Did anyone sit the Standard Grade Maths exam on the 8th May?

Katie.
"So much more original than any of us. You'd find an old tablecloth on the street and make a dress and next year, sure enough, they would be mass producing them at the Gap. You always said how lucky you were that we were all friends, but it was us, baby, who were the lucky ones."

Lol.

I was just about to ask you about it Katie. How'd it go?

Get your gradients sorted?

It was reaaaaaaaally hard, there was so many things in it I've just never seen before. The head of maths is phoning SQA to complain because there was Higher questions we've never seen in it.

I think I've probably failed both credits but I got four 1's for the prelims so I'm a perfect candidate for an appeal apparently.

Maths was awful, everyone in my year (and there's some right bright sparks in it) said they think they've failed. Oh well.

I had geography today which out of my eight subjects is my worst and out of the six exams I have sat so far has been the easiest!

But maths, oh my god, I brought both papers home and I still keep staring in disbelief at them! :|

Awww.

Don't the SQA weight the results on averages though? So if everyone in your school found it hard, chances are other schools will have too and the pass mark will be lowered. Big Grin

Best of luck with the remaining two.

You'll be fine. You're very clever and good luck with the appeal.

Yeah that's what is being said Lottie. Same with English, apparently our paper was the hardest since 1993. According to the head of english anyway, so they think the pass mark will also be lowered for that.

Even so, I think I'm doing okay so far!

French on Tuesday
Biology on the 27th

Looking forward to biology, that's a fun one Smile

Yeep I do, reading is a breeze.

It's listening that's really bad!

Italian exams were hard this year and they always make french harder because you've studied it longer, this year was not the year to be taking SG's Frown

Listening is the bad one. I hated French. Languages are so not my thing.

My friend speaks five languages (inc. english) and she's the same age as me, self taught mostly except for English, Italian and French which she studies at school. Her language skills have sort of rubbed off on me I think lol.

I'm actually quite good at french, just not the accent.

I could never get into them. English suits me just fine. But even that I hated studying at school.
