Welcome to the Off Topic forum. This is the place for Hollyoaks forum users to come and chat about any old thing… as long as it is not against the T&C’s to do so.
Please be aware there is a wide age range of users and post appropriately.
For a List of Forum Guidelines and the FAQ Go Here.
To boost your post count by playing A-Z games and other “time killers” Go Here.
You can still play normal games in here if you like, Hangman type forum games etc., but for the star farming type games please use the Games Forum linked above.
Thank you for creating this place. It looks lovely and I'm sure we'll soon settle right in!

No offence but I think that no forum is going to be as good as our old Oaks. Every forum will be compared to it!!! I think it's cos this is a replacement forum and not an additional one!!!
I hope this section doesn't degenerate into the same as Talk It Up on the old Hollyoaks Forum where there were posts that could have been put in the Chat section there. There are after all users here who may not have been members of the Old Hollyoaks Forum and will not appreciate that some messages posted here could (or should) really be posted in other sections as there are dedicated forums I.E: TV Shows, Chat, Games, Music, Reality TV and so on on the other forums here.

I agree to a point but this is an off topic section in a Hollyoaks forum. Surely anything which is not about Hollyoaks can be discussed here, so long as it's not full of a million topics about the same stuff.

It isn't just the million topics on the same thread, but the fact there are several sections to this forum and not just the Hollyoaks section. Ed here has already posted a welcome message here and requested people not to go mad posting what could be considered truely pointless threads like "What I had for tea". It may annoy users here who have been on the Channel4 forums for some time now to have their threads where they have something to say bumped off within minutes by members posting threads that are more suited to other sections of the Channel 4 forums.

I am more than aware of Eds dos and donts. They are listed in all the boards. If people are breaking the rules then fair enough but this is an off topic forum, it's meant to be a place where we can go to talk about anything which isn't Hollyoaks. It's meant to be a fun section (staying within the rules). If a Hollyoaks fan which frequently only visits here wants to start a topic about the OC or a reality show or Friends or whatever, then they can. Perhaps they want to discuss it, or have a chat with the people they have got to know over the last few years. I am aware there are other boards specifically for these, but I'm am not aware of any rules which state you are only to talk about something in the specific board. This is a Hollyoaks off topic section for the Hollyoaks viewers to discuss what they want so if one wants to talk about the OC fair enough. This is our off topic section. Other forums have their own off topic sections. If it was the case that talk about shows which have a board on here already is forbidden then why not just have the one off topic section for the whole of the C4 forums? If a person is coming here just to discuss something for which another board exists then I agree that they shouldn't use here and should visit the appropriate place. As for topics asking what people are having for tea,they may be pointless and you may not be to your fancy but at the moment the place is dead, it's not as if they are cluttering up the place. I say just relax, see how things go and if Ed or any of the other moderators on here don't like what we are doing, they will say and we will know that it isn't allowed and we will stop doing it.

Evening Ed! Whilst I totally agree and respect your T&Cs and intend to ahere to them. I am already sick of 'wannabe mods' banging on about what should and shouldn't be posted. Which in itself is clogging up this forum. People can read the T&C's themselves and if not face the consequences as deemed suitable by yourself. Do we really need other members going on about it all the time? It is ruining mine and other peoples enjoyment of this new forum.
As you say at the moment it it dead, but alread there has been one of those posts that many found very annoying on the old forum "Such and Such is fit". I am not saying we shouldn't have fun but I don't want to see this turn into another Talk It Up, flooded with "Goodnight Post", more than one post on "What I had for Tea". We cannot treat this forum like we did the old one as that was one of the reasons things went down hill on there. Ed has said that users should look at the list off subjects before posting incase the topic they want to talk about exists, that is why I am gioing to contact him as for a more precise definition as to what can and cannot be posted here.
I did wonder how the transition would go. The users of the old Oaks forum are used to a completely different set of rules, compared to what is acceptable behaviour on most forums out there. Thats not meant to be derogitary, just that it was a slightly more homely and cosseted feel, being a relatively small and homely community. I'd sincerely hope that in the discussions over the change they would have considered this and will be slightly more understanding whilst the members adjust. There were a lot of good friendships made, and in a very "Safe" environment, some moved on and some still progressing. As someone said before, the members of the old Oaks forum, have now become very small fish in a very big pond, having much less say and contact with the authority figures in here. However people see that, the old forum was a real support network to some people, rightly or wrongly, and it may not be good to expect that to just disapear in a day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think I'm cute..............I know I'm sexy! Bring back Shawn............To my bedroom, he forgot his Trousers!!!
One question Ed. The deletion of old inactive posts Many got use to the fact that these got deleted daily on the old Hollyoaks forum to clear the place. Does the member erase function here cover deletion of entire threads if started by a member or just the post they have made. ? If it covers the whole thread then I think we owe it to ourselfs to delete these old inactive threads ourselves and keep the forum neater instead of having whole pages of threads that no one has replied to in months.
