I am doing my a-levels at the moment. I have 2 exams tomorrow, one on wednesday, one friday and one monday. I had a root canal a while back and it's flared up again. I am now in complete and utter agony and despite painkillers and antibiotics prescribed by the dentist (I have to take these for 3 days before he can do anything else) I am still in so much pain, I can hardly hold my head up at the moment and have no idea how I'm going to do my exams if I carry on like this. Does anyone know what happens if you miss an a-level exam? Do you resit it at a later date? For example I have 2 religious studies papers on wednesday and 1 on monday. If i missed both of wednesdays papers and managed to sit mondays (as my as level counts for 50% of my overall grade) would I just resit those 2 papers?
Yeah you can do resits but you'll have to pay for the exams you missed. You could always just go and try your best and get a doctors note attached - that way the examiners will take into account that you're not well and might bump your grade higher if you don't do so well

Try a get a note from either dentist or the doctor, get ur mum to take it in. and they should understand and i think u will b able to do ur exam in i think in aug or nov, if not u will resit it next july, but not the whole ur just the exam, if u get me
If you get ur school/college to write and explain then they predict the grade you would have got if you did sit the exam and the board give you that grade, or at least thts how i think it works. talk to your school/college
