Just because she is in movies doesn't mean she won't die, although I don't think she will either. Smallville has already broken many of the rules of the mythology, i.e. Clark meeting Lois so soon.

If they were to follow the films, Pa Kent would be the candidate, as it is around this time in the films it happens (when Clark is 18 approximately, the creation of the Fortress etc.)

However, I watched/listened to one of the commentaries from Season 4 on the DVD boxset, and Gough/Miller commented that one of the good aspects of the show was that Clark has both parents to seek advice from, and when that relationship breaks up Smallville would effectively end, as it is the core of the show.

I think it is lex that proposes after the last episode I've just that is what he is going for

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT SEEN SEASON 5

Since in this episode he was married to Lana if he didn't use the information he had on Johnathan, which in the end he does after Lionel drags him back to his evil side, much like Lex did to Lionel during his humanitarian phase in season 4.

Does anyone else find it intriguing how Lex and Lionel do things for each other without the others consent and then complain about it to each other, but then usually do the same to the other later on???

After saying that about Lex I spotted the spoilers and pictures of the possible proposal and death so now know it isn't Lex

I know who definately proposes as well, I've seen the picture, but it could just be a dream sequence. I also haven't discounted the possibility of someone else proposing as well. Now that would be interesting!!!
