Just wondering, how would superman age on his own planet krypton as well as on earth??
on krypton, i'm assuming they would age like we do on our planet but maybe over a longer period e.g. for every 5 years on earth they would age 1 (in terms of looks, old age stuff kickin in etc.)
and also on earth?? he grew up from a kid to a man in the same years as others e.g. on smallville, same length of time as lana, but once he is a man, would his features look younger than of humans at the same age e.g. if lois is 40 and he is 40 would he look it? or would he still look like he's 25, and when/if would his powers start to fade ie. as he gets older maybe he gets slower and less powerful?? or maybe that won't effect him for another 100 years?? can he live on forever on earth???
yer but generally american teenagers tend to look older than they are, i've seen many who are meant to be 16/17 but look around 21-23, maybe they wanted a similar effect for him?
i think supermans age depends on the story the comics, tv shows, or films are telling, in the films and shows he ages normal, although in an episode of smallville where the kid can see how people die and he cant see clarks end suggests he lives forever.
its rumoured that the reason he aged through his childhood normally is because like his powers they didnt kick in till his teens. the more solar energy he is exposed to the longer he can live. there are some comics that have him shown thousands and thousands of years into the future but there is no actual explanation to how he ages, just speculation.
hmmm interesting, so there's actual way he ages, or not that we know off, just that he gets stronger with solar energy
but when the sun burns itself out, then he what happens, he turns normal?
I guess he would probably get back into his ship and go somewhere else!
also how far away can he go from the sun? we know he can go fast but to go really far he needs his ship as it goes faster? but is that cos it would take him longer to get somewhere or because he can't go into areas where there not a star for him to get his energy from......
he can go anywhere where there is a yellow sun, or in this universe, superman is from another universe which consists or a red sun.
there was a cartoon of the justice league where superman is sent to the future where the sun is gone and he is powerless. There is a lot of argument what would happen, its basically whatever fits the story.

Heh, there's also the question of whether he can survive without air, and for how long! Some comics have shown him needing an air supply for space travel, others suggest he either doesn't need one or can hold his breath an awful long time!
As for the distance from a yellow star, presumably he can go anywhere that yellow starlight will reach. There're probably an awful lot of yellow stars out there, so he's got quite a range.
I'd guess he needs to travel by spacecraft to save time, as you said. The distances involved are enormous, even at Superman's speed.

Firstly very good question, adn secondly very good answer from jor el however yes i think he does age slower in terms of looks and reflexes when he is older but as for the younger years jor el i think that hispowers did not kick in around the teens but more were developing from birth as smallville mentions that he brook many things in child hood and lately in smallvillle, clark can catch and block and dodge bullets however in an episode called Hug i believe lex fires a macjine gun at cklark under a meteor effect and clark can not dogde them all but is only bruised but now any bullets have no effect on him which leads me to the onclusion that he was always developing his powerrs and notjust getting them kick in around the teens with the exceptions of xrays, heat vision, heaing, breath and of course fligt according to the smallville mythology.
Lex: I know you, you've stolen from me before Bart: I want a lawyer Lex: And I want a ponytail....dissapointment abounds BRILLIANT
