Lets start with the positives of the episode first.
Once again, Lionel proves he is by far the best character in this show, and it's a credit to John Glover that this is the case considering the limited screentime he is given. On the other hand, I think Lionel would lose some of his impact were he to appear more often.
The ins and outs of the blackmail story don't really make any sense and the term 'fudging the storyline' is most appropiate. Let's assume that Lionel was blackmailing Martha to gain her trust. In that case why did he show Jonathan the photo in episode 100 that caused his death? We could argue back and forth his intentions, but it comes down to bad scriptting and a lack of a stable framework on what the series arc should be.
Although the Cyborg character was no where as near annoying as Aquaman, but still not as good as Flash, the storyline was a little weak. So, it reinforced the idea that Lex is bad and does evil things without considering this. Don't we already know this? Do we constantly need reminding of this in case we forgot what happened in last weeks episode, like lots of the characters seem to do on numerous occasions. Alicia dying in season 4 is one such example, it's like she didn't exist the week after.
As to whether Lionel is in fact Jor-El, I don't think so but believe he has added the facts up to deduce that Clark is in fact Kal-El. If that was the case, why hasn't the body possession happened since 'Hidden,' i.e. when Lana/Jonathan died. Again, I go back to the series seeming to be written on a weekly basis with the writers having no idea of roughly where they are meant to be from week to week.
Anyone know why Clark referred to Lana as his 'girlfriend' when he chased Victor out of the hospital? Can we please have an end to this Clark-Lana pantomine that appears to be dragged out. Clark is now a man, and as such his schoolgirl crush should be over and he should be chasing Lois. They have a much better dynamic on screen and after 4 and a half seasons of the will they won't they **** with Clark and Lana enough is enough!!!
And now for the major moan. How long are we going to have to wait for episode 16? We've all read the spoiler, those who haven't look away now....

Fine returns and uses Lex's obsession with the spaceship to try and release Zod.
Now the mention of Zod is awesome, especially after his brief appearance in 'Solitude' and Fine is returning is great, why are we waiting so long? I thought we already had had a mid season break? The UK screening is only 8 episdoes behind, and if we are waiting a month or more, these will almost overlap, which is rare. I can only go back to the lack of an overall framework, and changes to the story arc i.e. the character of Fine wasn't meant to be in any longer than 'Solitude' but the've changed the story to accomdate an expanded role for him. Certainly, I'm interested to see how he gets Lex to work with him after their conflicts, but I'm skeptical to say the least.
