Clark's Kryptonian cousin Kara, a.k.a. Supergirl, will be appearing - and this time it will be the real deal. Look for her in the Season 7 premiere. Apparently this "Supergirl" will be able to fly and can do some things Clark cannot yet do at this point. Kara will appear in "about half of the season's episodes."

Yeah it should be good, apparently she's been in suspended animation since she arrived on Earth at the same time as Clark. She was sent to Earth as a teenager to watch over her younger cousin but it's Clark that ends up looking after her. OH and she's meant to have a fling with Jimmy... sure Chloe will be thrilled!

Possible spoilers inside--The sixth season of Smallville may have concluded less than a month ago, but hype is already building for the show's seventh.

The drama portrays a young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) before he truly becomes the crime-fighting Superman, and has brought in several characters from Superman lore. The upcoming season will continue that trend, according to Smallville executive producer Al Gough, with the introduction of another member of the Krypton clan.

Making her debut in the series next season will be Kara Zor-El--better known as Supergirl--Gough told TVGuide.com. Kara is Clark's cousin and will not only possess many of the same powers as Clark, but a few more as well.

"She has all of Clark's powers and a couple he doesn't have yet," Gough told TVGuide.com. "She can fly. And her response when Clark asks why is 'obviously girls mature faster than boys.'"

In the story, Kara's ship landed on Earth around the same time as Clark's, but "there was a problem and she's been in suspended animation for the last 16 years." A teenager when she escaped Krypton, she was initially meant to look after Clark. She awakes, still a teenager, for season seven because of one of the season-six finale's explosive plot points--the big dam break.

With Clark now older than she is, Kara is able to spend more time being a teenage Earthling girl. "She becomes enamored with our culture--clothes and iPods and stuff," says Gough. "We'll have a lot of fun as she gets acclimated."

well i think of suspended animation as being stuck in time! well i say it in a easy way, its like being stuck in a block of ice your body doesnt grow it stays the same. but some way you satay alive! it is wired are confusing. if anyone has seen the first austin powers he was put in suspended animation.
can anyone put that in any other easy way?!
and i dont think she would know who clark is until she find out as she doesnt know what he looks like (he was still a baby on krypton.

thats what i mean though,how is she going to find out who he is. she doesnt know his name is clark kent,is she going to walk around smallville asking for kal-el.

do you think she will have a hand in defeating bizarro.

This should be interesting, clark might get a bit jealous that she can fly, but he can't. However, I wonder if kal el would be stronger than kara, after all he is jor-el's son. Clark could help her to become aclimatised. It will be interesting to see how she reacts to clark.

Oh I forgot does any know if kara has the same sort of philosophies as jor-el? Also i wonder how she will react to how clark is becoming increasingly more like kal-el.

Whilst i can see the logic of kara being introduced to the story i hope that does not detract from the conclusion of the lex/clark storyline.I have read that gough and millar want to see supergirl as their next project,fine as long as they don't use smallville as a long inroduction to her character and neglect to finish the clark kent story properly.

I agree russian, and I replied first to this posts but the am thing did not work any way. She was supposed to be older then clark, that I am not sure about and really find a bit strange as I woyuld have expected clark to be naturally older, but as I said in my first pos, this is going to be so sick, and there are alot of cool ideas on here already, i mean girls maturing faster so she can fly, brilliant, I bet tety cast some one proer fit for the role lol. Andpersonalyl I beliee both clark and when he becomes Kal El are stronger then Kara. Flight is a given but as for other powers, I am, very intruiged. I have heard of this fling with jimmy, nice thing to retouch upon. Apparently from my past expeience and knowledge, Kara is weaker but she has more knowledge of her kryptonian technology and heritage which also gives her some what of an advantage over clark in some respects.Suspended animantion is basically when yes you are really frozen alive in a state of animation leaving you alive until some one sees fit to re animate you (HiNT: watch Demolition man, its great and yoyu see it in proper action, also Austin powers wicked film lol, less real though. Back to th subject. I think she would have seen clark as a baby on krypton and nkwon him like that, but a for how she will find him perhaps she will help him defeat bizarro as she is clearly more developed in kryptonian terms with her powers then clark, and she could porbably match bizarros power as he is a bit more developed then clark at this moment in time.I do not believe calrk will be jealous of her flying cloud, but instead it may give hiim the anticipation to fly, hence open the window to that chapter of his life. Finally I hope she is fair amount like Jor El as then she may some times be very agressinve towards lex when she mets him. Hey another idea. I wonder How lex will react to her as she is a blood relative of clarks, this will be very intersting to see how he approaches her and if he ges inclings of her being "extra" ordinarly cough cough lol like clark. am this is a ling post sorry guys, been a while sinceI have reponded lol, had to get rid of it all.

hope season 7 is focused on clark/lex and lex becoming evil,it has to,as he's leaving,him becoming evil and falling out totally with clark has to be done in this series.

You are welcome sheva. The writers should use kara to expand the story line, but not to detract from the lex/clark story as that is the main story line in smallville and most other things are built around it. After all smallville is not just about clark formative years it is also about what pushes Lex down the path of darkness.

Here's a wicked thought.Do you think the introduction of kara and letting her do the things clark cannot eg flying is gough and millars way of appeasing fans who constantly ask them when will clark fly?.Knowing the no flight no tights rule i wonder if this is a way to get these people off their backs.

Why go an easy explanation when you can give people proper explanation without confusing them. so i will start imagine what would happened to Clark ship if it landed in Antarctica instead of kent farms? he would be in same situation except he's a baby.

Assuming she older there's another question which is will she be naked? i doubt it but one can dream?

another point wasn't kara in smalville season 3? didn't she hi-jack clark into going into the cave? another loose end writer forgot about.

this is a bit confussing cause kara has already been in the show and there was no mebtion she was his cousin except by clark when telling lana who she was but this was just for lana benefit but neither clark or kara mentioned they were cousins to each other if i can remember correctly wern't they supposed to be married or sth like that in krypto reality

That wasn't Kara in season 3. Jonathan found out that the girl was somebody who dissapeared and was being used by Jor-El.

Yeh he gave her the name and powers of kara to bring him clark bala. And heres a thought guys, I just saw this new adventures episode lately and apparently clark would be dead if a kryptonian virus got to him as he did not have time to adapt tokrypton and develop the neccessary anti bodies to fight off kryptonian viruses. So des that mean that Kara should be immune to them as well?

that might be true but where would the kryptonian viruses come from?!

Oh right yeh, sorry I forgot, what happened was that in the new adventures the government had clarks ship with no one knowing and they found tonnes of viruses on there that would only affect kryptonians, and I think this has been done by smallville from a different angle, remember ki the episode where that green k dust is in the storm cellar and affects martha and clark and then the ship saves them.

I can't remember but sme one mentioned it on the season 7 spoliers thread some where you can try to find it. I think it was in a random abandonned field.

Yeh its on this thread and I was just checking wikipedia and founds this little, well big paragrapgh.

So according to wikipedia she will appear in the season premiere, this is so cool, looks like that teory, whos ever it was may come to pass after all.
