I know that later in the smallville season we have now obviously seen whose alliance Jor El resides in but you have got to admit from the very beginning it did seem as though he was a bad guy in what hesaid to clark and all that. Just wanted to know what every one elses opinions were and now are of Jor El???
Lex: I know you, you've stolen from me before Bart: I want a lawyer Lex: And I want a ponytail....dissapointment abounds BRILLIANT
yeh at first Jol-el did seem to be bad as we thought and clark did to take over the world as well he didnt care about clarks life on earth he just whated him to become Kal-el. but now we see that he is making clark become kal-el as well having a sort of a normal life. and wants clark to help protect the world form EVIl!!! (lex)
Jor-el kind of reminds me of linoel luthor. In that they both want to mould their sons in their own image and they both face resistance from their sons. I think that every time clark stands up to lex or makes sacrifices in order to save people and esspecially when he killed Titan he is inadvertnatly doing exatctly what jor-el wants him too i.e become more and more like kal-el.

If you think about it jor-el is how most teenagers see their own father,i know most things my dad said to me when i was going thru that period i tended to rebel against it's only later you begin to see the light.
Well that sort of some cases, some of the things my dad says seema bit pointless to me some times, but then russian dos nt that mean that all of lionels harsh lessons on lex when lionel was evil were good, but we know they were not.

I don't think we truly understand what our fathers are talking about until we are older and more mature. At the moment I just a bit like yeah, yeah whatever with my dad. I guess it is all part of being a teenager though.

Never, although in some wierd way you can say that it was sort of nice that he told lana to stay with lex as if iam correct, I believe the motive of that was so lexs heart was not broken. I am not sure about this could some one confirm it please?

Depends on which lionel you believe as he told lex he could not stand to see his son heartbroken yet he told lana that she had to stay with lex or he would kill clark and he told clark the reason he forced lana to stay with lex was to protect clark's secret. As you can see three diferent version's,which do you believe?.
The manhunter told clark that lionel was 'an emisary of Jor-El' which i took to mean he was acting in the best interest of Kal-EL.But you know how lionel's position can change as often as the direction of the wind,i still have the feeling he has his own agenda and will in the end do what is most beneficial for himself.
Oh is that what he said, I heard that he actually told clark that he was good, ah well but still russian, I am sure tha if the manhnter found some thing bad in lionel he would have told clark init. But then again you are right about lionels loyalties etc.
