Oh yes. I'm going to pre-book 4 tickets for Friday 14th July to go see 'Superman Returns' with a group of friends. I can't wait. Been waiting for this move to come out for like a year now.

Even though im gonna go 2 c it, i feel that the main problem wil b that Tom Welling can't b replaced in both looks and ability 2 act the character of Clark so well!!

Hi,

I saw it last night with friends.

I personally really enjoyed it.

It's strange seeing someone else other than C.R. in the role of C.K./Superman. But Brandon did a nice job; there were a couple of times I got chills down my spin. As the way Brandon would deliver a line would be the way I would imagine C.R. would have he done the movie.

Kate as Lois Lane was ok, although she looked a little young, to have a young son as well.

Kevin as Lex was fantastic, I though he was a really good...EVIL LEX! Although there was one fight between him and Superman where I was really feeling bad for Sups and flinching a little because the violence seemed very graphic for a Superman movie. But it was a good scene.

There's a little twist at the end that will make any possible sequels to this Superman movie very interesting.

There were also some references to the original movie, like lines from the original movie being used. Which I though was a nice touch.

All in all I really enjoyed it and hope they make another one.

I came back from seeing it like 15 minutes ago. It kicked ass. It was Ace. Loved little references/lines from original and way they kept original theme. But overall it rocked.

How on earth did they spend that much on this film.

It was essentially a sentimental rehashing of all we had seen before. Casual recycling of Marlon Brando scenes already used in the first film. I thought we were meant to see more of the footage that was edited out of Superman II?

Whoever wrote the script for this film must have had a really hard job. 2 and a half hours of pointless dialogue sprinkled with not tributes to the previous films, but basic rip off. And the casting? Brandon Routh seems to have been told to ape Christopher Reeve, and the rest just seem to be caricatures. Where was Perry White's passion? What was the point in Jimmy Olsen? And Kevin Spacey? What a shocking performance from such a talented actor. I can't decide whether he was mis-directed or just played the part badly.

As for the story, the inconsistencies and holes in it were a joke. If Superman flew off to another galaxy to look for Krypton or parts of it and found nothing, where did the rocket come from to fly him back? And how did he get there in the first place? Surely once he was far away from the sun he would have lost all his powers?

Why did Lex Luthor need to swindle a dying old woman out of millions before he could hatch his 'masterplan?' This guy is supposedly the greatest criminal mastermind ever, a genius, yet is resorting to this! Why wasn't Superman feeling the effects of the Kryptonite infused land mass as soon as he landed on it, and how on earth did he manage to fly it so high?

I'm sorry, but the film was far too formulaic. And as for spoiler Superman with a Son!! did I just dream this or did it really happen? Why?? Why??

I was really looking forward to this new film, and hopefully a sequel(s) on the back of a successful relaunching of the Superman franchise, but sadly this film was terrible. If they do make a new one, lets hope Singer et al are removed from this project. Stick to making your basic action hero films like X-Men. Superman deserves a lot better.

right i dont know what film you where watching but superman didnt suck.

the film was a sequel so it was always going to be similar. plus you get all these people comparing it to the first 2 and thats always gonna make you criticize it.

I didnt go into the film wondering how brandon would compare to reeves. i was going to see how well brandon played superman which he did. and you can say lex would never do that. lex would never be like what he was in the first films either. he was never that camp.

and personally the special effects where mind boggling.

this film was the best so far in terms of actual film. bryan singer knows more about superman that we do and it personally got the blessing from richard donner the guy who directed the first one so id stop comparing it with all the other films
