I have been reading about the Justice League film in Empire and at the possible cast. They have Tom Welling down as a quite strong candiate to play Superman. So we may finally get to see Tom donning the famous tights and cape, esspecially since Brandon Routh has declined the part.

WHAT I did nt know he declined, I just thought they did not bother with him for the role, much like Christian Bale for Batman, who may I say is now the best Batman of all time, He thrased all others, and even Keaton with that Sick movie, he is with out a doubt, number one on the Bat Ratings.

Acctually according to Empire Christian Bale is also out of the picture and that it might be Nathan Filliton who will play Batman,they have Doug Jones down for the Martian Manhunter, Eliz Dushku to play wonderwoman, Ryan Renolds to play Flash, Anna Faris to play Black Canary. They are trying to decide whether to go for the green latern or the green arrow. If it is the green arrow they are looking at Martin Henderson and if it is the green latern they are looking at Derek Luke.

Wow cheers for that cloud, but seriously jhonny from two guys and a girl as batman, this should be a very interesting change, anna faris, man she is hot she could definately pull of black canary and this would be a good serious film for her to really establish her self.

I know anna farris is seriously hot. The thing I am most intrigued about though is whether Tom Welling really will play superman.

wow this film is going to be great with those actors in! and to see tom in tights is going to be abit weird but very cool. and i hope that they choose the green arow as i like that charcter better.
and the episode of justice was brill, very nice to see heros back in smallville hope to see them again some time!

Tom Welling will 99.9% NOT play Superman in the Justice League film. Why would Smallville fans want him to anyway? It's ridiculous enough that they are choosing to do this film with Batman and Superman franchises going around, but to have the 'teen' Superman playing adult Superman before going back to 'teen' Superman would be a very stupid idea.

This is the kind of film that needs a few years planning, but they have rushed through a script and will rush through casting because of all the strikes next year, they need the film finished before may/june 08.....this film will suck if something doesn't happen to postpone it IMO

Thats a good point actually, yeh your right, the last thing we want them to do is rush it, but then again you never can really tell if a film will be a succes until it hits the cinemas. Although I have to agree with you about the superman and batman angle in a way ninjy. I didn't think it was stupid for them to include batman and superman in the new film while the franchises were just reborn and both going strong with new and, now setteled actors taking up thier own respective mantles and capes etc. It really did get on my nerves that they are not going to use either of the current Batman or Superman to play the roles they have now made thier own in this film, but then I would not be adversed to seeing welling play the role he has been leading up to for a while. I mean I am not sure who told me this but some one on here mentioned that welling was actually older then Rotuh, so he may actually be able to pull it off, plus if you check out the thread i started about Supermans suit ninjy you will be able to see a image of superman that looks alot like it is welling in the suit, it may just change your mid because I think he actually manages to pull it off in that image.

You raise some good points ninjy, but I do agree with sunoit. Although I don't know if tom would be able to sucesfully play a grown up superman, when he is used to playing a young clark kent.

US, October 9, 2007 - It's becoming increasingly likely that Hollywood screenwriters are going to stage a walkout come Nov. 1 as talks between the Writers Guild of America and the major studios continue to deteriorate faster than Britney Spears' physique. A writers' strike could seriously impact some of Hollywood's biggest upcoming movies, including Bond 22 and Justice League of America.

MI6.co.uk points out an article in the British newspaper The Guardian, which claims that Bond 22 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are "likely to be affected" by the walkout. It should be noted, however, that Potter has already begun filming, while Bond 22, which Oscar winner Paul Haggis is still rewriting, doesn't begin filming until mid-December. Justice League, another reported possible victim of the looming WGA strike, will reportedly go before cameras in early 2008.

The Guardian adds, "The WGA had been expected to join forces with the DGA [Directors Guild of America] and the SAG [Screen Actors Guild] in the summer, rather than on November 1, when its current contract with studios expires. The possible strike is over royalties from sales of movies over the internet and on DVD, which are not covered in the current deal between the various guilds." Today's Variety adds that a "possible lockout is also being discussed."



On a more important note.....why the <expletive> do rich people need to strike?

It does seem weird that rich people are striking.

I know it would be a shame if they squandered the chance to make a good film.

and yeh they should spend a more then a year on this film so they can plan it and make it great!

They make all of that money and they whine that they are not making more, I would like to slap all of them and say grow up you get paid way more than most people.

Hey guys, you know in crimson, did any one else thing that tom looked a bit bigger then before, just a thought, what if he really has been approached with the role in the blue tights and is buffing him self up to fit the part as best he can. COMMENTS.

yeh thought the same thing! might it might of been cos of the last episode when he wasnt in his normal clothes. But yeh you might be right that his been approached1 that will be rgreat if he has.

Who knows prehaps the rumours are true. It would be cool if they are.

I swear Tom looked much bigger in promise and Combat, It may be true.
