I find it funny how tv series that had a great start initially (Desperate Housewives, The O.C.) Have gone far downhill into their second+ seasons. It's very disappointing. I find all the storylines in The O.C. flat and not at all the fast-paced, intriguing stuff on season 1, and have no idea why I still watch it after the truly terrible season 2 and now 3 - perhaps in the hope it might start getting better?. Although it is mildly better now everyone is not 100% happy and the best of friends. Who told the producers that that stuff sells?!!
As for Desperate Housewives, I absolutely adored the first season, but I did find it started going downhill after the spectacular 'Guilty' and now the storylines are exceptionally dull. Susan (Teri Hatcher's) storylines are ridiculous, and not in the least amusing. Nothing compared to the slightly slapstick yet still humorous storylines at the beginning of season 1. Lynette, Gabrille and even Bree's are not much better. Even Edie has become rather monotone. And as for the Applewhite's - I really don't care what the mystery is. I did find the season 1 conclusion pretty ridiculous - a drug addict buying a baby, whatever next? but at least it was watchable.
And here we have Smallville, which may have slipped a little during season 4 but was incredible for 3 seasons, and is picking up again.
That that don't kill me can only make me stronger.
