Well Lois has seen Clark without his glasses, and acting normally.

We all know that Superman is actually the person and Clark the disguise, so how would this work when Lois sees Superman for the first time?

Same with Lex and the whole of Smallville.

Answers on a postcard Wink

How many times does this come up. Smallville is an original interpretation of the characters attached to Superman the legend. Setting it in the time of Lois and Clark as adults has already been done, i.e 'Lois and Clark The New Adventures of Superman.'

What would thus be the point of this idea being rehashed. One of the good things about Smallville is that it has re-examined the relationships of the characters, e.g. Lex and Clark, and also built up those of others to explain the personality of the characters in the future, e.g. the effect of Clark and Lex's fathers respectively.

Well said Gar, people on this forum rely to much on the films as a reference point as to what Clark will become in the future. This little pointer is for all those people. Superman and all associated superman material are all works of FICTION, the good thing about FICTION is that people can reinvent the story to their likeing. Most writers tend to keep the basics the same but change the rest of the story to suit. Even the films were made with a certain amount ot rewriting of the Superman legend that people had come to know in the comics.

Yep, Smallville has it's own mythology. It is not meant to be a rehash of the New Adventures of Supperman except with younger characters. Smallville does show how the charcters developed, but in its own way. I wish people would stop linking it to the films and The New Adventures of Supperman, which by the way next to Smallville looks crap. Smallville shows a differnt side to Clark, it shows us his darker moments, the lies he has to tell and the trials he has to face. I must admit I was sceptical about introducing Lois into Smallville, but as long as she is kept in the dark about Clark's secret it works.

Sorry, I had not seen the question posed before.

Question was only asked, because its a known fact who Clark becomes and were and who he works with.

Obviously in this mythology the events that have been set for the last 65+ years will now be different.
