hi. does anyone know what the"s" stands for cos i've seen it on his chest and other places. but it cant stand for superman, cos thats in the future. can anyone help me?!!
I think, and russian may or may not agree, that the s inside the diamond shape is the symbol of kal-el's family. As in the first Superman film Jor el, played by Marlon Brando, has the same symbol on the shirt thing that he wears.

Hello guy's ,first the cloud is correct the 'S' symbol is like a family monogram, however superrockkid are you refering to the 'S' that appears in places such as clark's chest in the cornfield in episode one,if so this is a writers thing they have done several times,in that instance it stood for 'smallville' but you are supposed to make the connection between the 'S','superman' and 'smallville',it's just like putting clark in clothes that are blue and red in colour ,it makes you make the connection.
If you are referring to the episode that i think is called scarcrow or something in season 1 then yes I would agree that the s stands for Smallville. However, when the S gets branded on to Clark's chest by Jor-El just before Clark destroys the ship and runs of to Metropolis I think that time it is reffering to Clark's kryptonian linege.

Spot on mate,if i recall at the time clark was pushing away from his heritage and insisting he wanted to be human Jor-El was simply reminding clark who he really was.
oh i thought of something else to do of the s, there has been symbols of the "s" that has been on earth for hundreds of years how did it get there or does it mean something else??
I know in the episode with Fallin there is an S on Alexander the Great's armour.I think it is becasue there had been Kryptonians coming to Earth before Clark. I mean look at the Cave, the Circles around the octagonal hole have kryptonian symbols in them and in Relic it showed that Jor-El had been to Earth. I think going to Earth was some Kind of kryptonian right of passage.

Clark knows that Jor-el has been to earth and that other kryptonians may have have as well, becasue of the S on the armour and elments that were given to 3 great civilisations.

That's brilliant cloud, well done mate,i think your right there were kryptonians on earth before clark in fact smallville sort of covered it in the fifties episode with the strange visitor 'joe' falling for 'louise' and being spirited away to safety by clark's grandfather 'hyram'.The 'joe' character was of course thought by clark to be Jor-El.
Hey, Smallville beats studying hands down and I often have some time on my hands so I have plenty of time to think about this kind of stuff. Thanks for the complement russian, there are deffinatly signs that people from Krypton have been to earth before Clark, like the elements. Also do you think that the design on Alexander the Great's armour in the eppsode with Fallin looks suspiciously like the symbol burned on to Clark's chest. Prehaps Jor El was not the first member of Clark's kryptonian family to visit Earth.
