Okay, I've never seen Smallville but my uncle and also a friend of mine both watch it and have said it's BRILL. Could someone sort of summarise for me what it's about (I know it's Superman's early days or something to that effect), as I would like to know before I spend lots of money on the boxsets :P

Smallville tells the story of Clark Kent before his superhero days (no flights, no tights) as he struggles to adapt to his life changing and his ever developing powers.
He grows up wanting the current love of his life, Lana Lang (Lois Lane is nowhere to be seen in this young boys dreams) and developing a great friendship with his future nemesis to be, Lex Luthor.
Don't think I can add anymore without giving away specific plots though.

It's about a dude with superpowers. only without the strange superman outfit. And he (Clark) is in love with a girl called Lana Lang, who is dating a Jock. His best friend, Chloe, is also in love with him, something he doesn't seem to have noticed, but that Lana knows. And when he saves the town millionaire's son from drowning (with his superpowers) when the son (Lex Luther, my eye candy) loses control and drives his car over a bridge and they both go over, they become friends and Lex tries to help Clark hook up with Lana. Kind of One tree hill with superpowers instead of basketball, (only so many people seem to die/disappear because of the weird things that happen around smallville since a meteorite hitting the town, it's a wonder there's anyone left.) what are you doing on here, anyway?
