I Just watched episodes 100 (Reckoning) and 101 (Vengeance) and I'm a little confused! Now I know that the writers of Smallville aren't completely true to the Superman movies, As far as Character Development, Introductions and storylines go. But what's with the death of Jonathon Kent????
Mr. Kent, as far as I know is in many of the Superman movies, and is also in "Louis and Clark"?
So, what's the deal here people? Will Jor-El bring him back? Is he gone forever?
he wasn't in many superman movies becasue he died in the first few mintues of the first superman movies. and there is no such show as louis and clark

Head, have you seen all of season 5 of Smallville, or just read the spoilers that Jonanthan Kent dies? Having seen season 5 so far, I know why he dies, but won't explain unless you want some major plot spoilers.

Yes but the Christopher Reeve Superman films and Smallville are different interpretations on the same story. There is no need for their to be a match up in what happens in terms of a timeline.
For example, in Smallville Lex and Clark are friends when Clark is a teenager. I don't think this has ever happened in another Superman story. Further, Lois and Clark are certainly similar in age, with Lois being maybe 2/3 years older than Clark judged by when they are at college. In Superman I, when Clark runs through the field as a teenager, Lois is on the train and sees him running, yet she is only about 7/8 years old.
Just because something happened once in a film, or Lois and Clark, does not mean Smallville has to follow suit.

And he dies so that Clark can become a man,or Superman. I reckon that is why. To make Clark step up and be the strong man his father was. Thats why they killed him off.
