Not a bad episode. Set us up nicely for the next few episodes with Jonathan running for Senator against Lex. I was glad in a way that the 'Diplomat selling women' story was wrapped up quite quickly, and gave us some screen time between Lois and Clark. I think the two of them work well together as a team, and the 'we hate each other' routine hasn't gotten old yet.
I always like Lex and Jonathan conversations, Lex constantly challenging peoples perceptions of him. Jonathan straight away assumed that Lex was behind the girl story, and would go public with the phone records, but once again Lex has another agenda. Ironically, it is he who helps Clark get into the club and solve the mystery.
The Dukes of Hazzard stuff was also just about right, I first thought the reference was going to be constant, but luckily it ceased after the initial onslaught.
The next two episodes are really good. Milton Fine and Lionel figure prominently, and I'm really hoping we get some sort of showdown between these soon. Unfortunately, I think the writers will focus on the Lex-Fine conflict, but Lex isn't strong or wise enough yet to face someone like Fine without losing terribly.
