"Traveler" is about Patricia Swann, daughter of Dr. Swann and a childhood friend of Lex's. Swann and Lionel were part of a group who were waiting for the arrival of an extra-terrestrial "traveler". Patricia wants to stay in touch with Clark because she believes he can do good for the world.
- Another character currently being cast is "Pierce," who fears aliens, and kidnaps Clark and keeps him in a specially built prison.

The scene in question is a flashback to when Lionel, Swann, the Queens, and the Teagues were all working together in the late 1980s.

Finally, IGN.com has confirmed who the "hero" will be - Pete Ross, returning to Smallville for the first time since Season 3's "Forsaken."
- Pete won't really like the changes that have gone on since he left town. He's surprised to learn that Chloe, Lana, and Lionel all know Clark's secret - and he's especially surprised to find Lionel Luthor hanging out at the Kents' home.
- Much like a Season 1 "freak of the week" story, Pete obtains temporary "Elastic Lad"-like stretching powers thanks to something involving meteor rocks. He's using these powers when he saves the lives of Kara and Jimmy.
- Lex uses Pete's past feelings for Chloe to his advantage.
- Pete may have some unresolved bad feelings about keeping Clark's secret and the direction it has taken in his life.

Im liking the way this episode is sounding, I thought they should have brought back pete for a while so he could see all the shock changes that have occured, but the elastic power - i did not see that coming I reckon he might even have a tiny thow down with clark, that would be quite good.

ha love to see them having a little play fight! and i really wonder what pete will think when he finds out lionel is (kind of) on clarks side.

Ill bet it will be, but pete did get on my nerves a bit I found that he was more annoying then clark is to ninjy, he was always whining about something, but stilll a good character, I think the worst one on the show was that blonde dumb as* whitney, I mean my god man , get a blokes name and get lost.
