Good to hear that he may return for a guest apperance.
It was unfortunate that they simply could not use this character, I thought that giving him knowlage of Clark's secret would have given the character a solid place in the series. But alas, by season 3 he was just popping into episodes for an odd scene or two. Giving Chloe the secret works much better, and makes more sense, so Pete simply was a spare wheel in the show.
Anyway. Sam Jones is a fine actor, and I look forward to seeing him in Smallville again, even if it is a one off appearance. BRG

They couldn't even think of a storyline for him when he was a regular, I doubt they'll think of something now.

I don't think he had much purpose in the shhow anymore. Chloe fills his role much better and is a more complex and interesting character. I'd still think it would be good to see him again some time. whenever it is. They definatly left it open for him to return when he left
It would be good to see Pete again, but he has missed so much. Such as Johnathen's death, Clark becoming Kal El, the rasing of the Fortess and Milton Fine. He would be too much out of the loop.
Like a fat a guy at an all you can eat buffet life got in my way.
