Couple of things I liked about "Thirst"
- Chloe's narration - This method of storytelling can be tedious from time to time but Allison Mack has a nice and breezy voice that made them lively and entertaining, even if some of what she had to say was cheesy.
- Carrie Fisher - Brilliant casting part 1. I loved how she challenged Chloe and called her on the Lionel stuff from Season 3. Good continuity and a character I wouldn't mind seeing again.
- Lana telling Clark he talks too much - Well bloody gag him then if he yaps too much about his feelings and technically Clark has whined a lot this season.
- No Jonathan/Martha - Once in a while their presence isn't needed. This was one of them.
- Clark in costume - Tom Welling looked especially cute as the mask of Zorro. Chloe as a nurse was cliched though.
- Lex vs Milton Fine/Braniac - Finally a stand off worth our viewing pleasure and an opponent who is superior to Lex. The casting of James Marster as Fine was superb and I like how he's manipulating Clark against Lex. Not that he needs much persuading nowadays.
What sucked about "Thirst"
- The music - bland, uninspired, unoriginal - I really could go but I won't.
- Clark talking too much - Someone gag the guy once in a blue moon because Clark's lack of action sometimes can be distessing.
- The sorority chicks - what a bunch of morons. What a bunch of over the top morons too. Seriously i've seen better acting on The O.C. and that's a show which is usually devoid of good acting.
The vampire plot - If the Charmed parody with "Spell" last season didn't work, what on earth made the writers think that a Buffy one would fare better? Worse still this episode was written by Steven S. DeKnight whose written pivotal episodes of Buffy/Angel.
Kristin Kreuk's acting - Every season we're inflicted to one episode where Lana gets to be a bad girl and every year KK's performances are dire. This was one of her worst.
Rating: 5/10.
