Clint Eastwood. First he did the Sergio Leoni trilogy which included A Fist Full of Dollars and The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Then He did the dirty Harry movies such as Magnum force which were pretty good. He did the Gauntlet in which his wife co -starred, that was okay. He did a mountaineering movie which I enjoyed. Then Clint did Escape From Alcatraz which is one of my favourite films and he also did In The Line Of Fire and Unforgiven which were very good. I haven't saw Million Dollar Baby but it is suposedly a top class film.

Clint Eastwood's best film is Mystic River, this is of course as a director and is my humble opinion. Sean Penn is a powerhouse in this film, almost De Niro like...but not quite.

It's hard to choose just one so-called greatest actor, when different actors give great performances in particular genres but not in others. And then there are so-called character actors who are may give brilliant performances but have limited range. So I'll just name those actors who I enjoy watching the most, rather than those I consider to be the most versatile or most skilled:
Johnny Depp Edward Norton Peter Sarsgaard Paul Giammati F. Murray Abraham Christian Bale Paul Bettany Joe Pesci Sir Ian Holm Rex Harrison Vincent Schiavelli

My pennyworth - they may not all have apeared in spectacular roles or films but I've enjoyed many of their performances:
Cary Grant Daniel Auteuil Jean Reno Alec Guinness Alastair Sim Peter Sellers Daniel Day Lewis Matti Pellonpaa Naveen Andrews Gary Oldman Tim Roth John Candy Johnny Depp Gerard Depardieu Jimmy Cagney James Mason Edward Norton David Hyde Pierce Ewan McGregor Alan Rickman Lee Marvin Shashi Kapoor
Gong Li Juliette Binoche Anne Bancroft Maggie Smith Emmanuelle Béart Kristin Scott-Thomas Bette Davis Flora Robson Helena Bonham-Carter Rachel Griffiths Vivian Gray Doris Day Kati Outinen Kathleen Turner
I know I've missed out a few ...

Al Pacino in anything, brilliant. But for actors who virtually play themselves I'll also go for Sean Connery and Michael Caine. But for me the greatest British actor in without doubt Albert Finney!

Johnny Depp because he has it all. He is physically beautiful, he has charisma and he is a fine character actor with real versatility. Just about any of the leading men parts you care to mention Depp could have played them perfectly. There are lots of brilliant movie actors out there, Hoffman, Walken, Brando, Pacino, DeNiro, Hanks, Nicholson but only Depp has it all. He is Mr Cool with a capital C

With you all the way Bridan, all the actors you mentioned are brilliant but there is only one divine and wonderful Johnny Depp.

Tom Hanks without a doubt. I don't like every film he's in but he is a fantactic actor. Forest Gump & Saving Private Ryan are fantastic films. xXx

hmmmmmm very hard I would say for me it is between Johnny Depp, plays great part and he can pull off any type of character. Then theres Jack Nicholson he is just so cool and you just have to watch the shining to see how great he is. Michael Caine I love him outstanding and such a character.

Wow wobble, agree with steve, but am alittle surprised at lewis, don't get me wrong though, I loved him, in my youth! Loved the professionals, and also loved who dares wins, excellent adrenelin stuff. Just thought that he was not for you, but then again, you are always full of surprises eh! R.I.P. Well I chose Steve because of the way he could drive (no other actor could make a film like LeMans) and his screen presence, Lewis because he was a proper bloke... always violent action but in very a British way.
