Chinese Odyssey 2002. It's such a wicked film and I've never heard anyone mention it. To Catch A Virgin Ghost. South Korean horror-comedy that I saw at a Korean film festival but it never got wider release. Shame as it was really good. Much better than the slightly similar and more widely known Happiness of the Katakuris imo. Whisky. The only Argentinian film ever to be released in the UK, if I rememeber rightly. A sweet droll story - surprised there's no Bill Murray American remake in the pipelines. Sadly tinged with tragedy now after the co-writer/director took his own life. Mean Creak I thought was great. ......_____,__ __ _\______ - ---o ~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~ 0 -----` --(@)==========(@)--

I like Cats Eye, (originally a Steven King story). It’s a trilogy of tales interconnected by a cat called General. It’s has a tale about a man, (James Woods) who wants to give up smoking and he’s being stalked by the councillor he meets at a company called “Quitters Inc. The next story is about a guy who goes round the outside of a sky scraper for a bet and the third story stars Drew Barrymore as a girl tormented by a troll like Demon who comes into her room and sucks her breath! I love this film as I like cats, I like the dark comic horror moments and Steven King is the only author I like!

Rohmer's 'A Good Marriage' is very good, it is not one of his better known films but it deserves to be.
Also, Jodorowsky's 'Santa Sangre' cracks me up.

Josie And The Pussycats (2001 starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson)
I love this movie but no one seems to have heard of it.
I did some research and it cost 22 million dollars to produce. You would of thought they would of pushed it a bit harder.
The film grossed 14.3 million dollars at the US box office so made a big loss.
I think it's great mainstream fluff. Very funny, snappy and with a great soundtrack. I can highly recommend it to other lovers of this genre.

Yeah i've got Josie and the Pussycats on DVD - i'd never seen it before and i got it in one of those 'buy 3 DVDs for £20' deals - it's quite funny.

I would choose "To Have & Have Not" with Bogart & Bacall, its simply a classic & a lot better than the more well known "Big Sleep" It has that classic line "You know how to whistle don't you Steve, you just put your lips together & blow" I've tried looking everywhere for a version on DVD to no avail

Double Indemnity - classic film noir with Barbara Stanwick, probably been overlooked in recent years.

Has anyone ever seen the silent film 'The cabinet of Dr Caligari'? It's on ******* for those who are interested. It is a genuinely creepy and wonderful Burtonesque film. I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of Tim Burton.

Missed Bonnie's post first time 'round - thanks Caulfield@. Leningrad Cowboys is one of my favourite films - the hair, the shoes - the hiding place for the beer! Has anyone seen Calamari Union? It's another Aki Kaurismaki film, featuring fifteen characters called Frank and their epic journey across Helsinki to the promised land (district) of Eira.

Some good movies you might not know about:
Bigas Luna's Anguish, a great "pull-out-the-rug" type horror film.
Bound by Honor AKA Blood in Blood Out, a 3 hour gang epic that every seems to have forgotten about.
Brain Damage, a very original horror comedy from the 80s.
Careful, one of those Eraserhead type films that is unlike anything else and totally weird.
Deadbeat at Dawn, an insanely violent zero-budget gang thriller from Jim Van Bebber: a true cult classic.
Deranged, a 70s version of the Ed Gein story.
King of the Ants, an intense revenge movie (based on a book by Charlie Higson!).
Seksmisja, a Polish sci-fi sex comedy!
Kin-Dza-Dza, a Russian sci-fi comedy!

Warriors Two, for martial arts fans at least. Probably slightly too popular for this particular poll, City of God. I only mention it because nobody i work with has heard of it, nor any of my mates. Although as proper movie fans, I've no doubt the majority of people on this site have of heard of it.

The planet A recent film I know you will have not seen, not on general release but you can get it on DVD SCI-FI with Scottish Actors sounds crap but trust me worth a look. Has Mike Mitchell the Mr Universe in it. ____(OO=[II]=OO)___ (O=0000=O) Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes.

How about the "The Fifth Configuration", starring Stacy Keach (1970s) or "Dark City" with Ralph Fiennes. Good shows both. CS

Cant remember its name but it was on really late one night. A bizarre and original scifi adventure starring Rufus Sewell, where the world changes every night when people are asleep..Sewell's character is the only one that notices the changes. Dark City? Its an intriguing film with an exciting climax- even for a 3am insomiac!
