Hey, i'm new here and was hoping you people could do me a little favour! I've been studying Mel Gibson as part of my film course which requires me to carry out primary research and am interested to see what film-goers really think of him.

All you need to do is answer; Yes or no (on most of them) to the following questions.

1, Do you regard Gibson as a good actor?

2, Do you regard Gibson as a good director?

3, In Gibson's films, do you think there are any links between the films he has directed and starred in? (If you want, you could back up your answer here)

4, Do you think Gibson has played a part (however significant) to the changing world of film today?

5, Out of; Lethal Weapon, Braveheart and signs, which film do you think was his best?

6, In your opinion is/was Mel Gibson one of the all time Hollywood greats?

He's a great actor and director. I'm not sure about the third question. I think Braveheart is one of the greatest films of all time. I am Scottish and i do think that he did the film justice. He put everything into the film, although in parts his accent was a bit off. I wouldn't say he was one of the all time greats. Some of his films will go down in history but there are better actors out there.

1. Yes, I think Mel Gibson is a good actor.
2. I think he is a fantastic director.
3. I think 'faith' is the link between his films. Braveheart - he had faith in his country. Signs, he lost hs faith (and regained it). The passion of the Christ (He is a Catholic), Apolcolypto - the central character has faith in his abilitly to get back to his family to rescue them.
4. Not sure - possibly with the Passion of the Christ. I was so powerful and because it was filme in old Armeic made it authentic and therefore believeable.
5. I like Signs best.
6. I think he is getting there. If he comes up with another file like 'The Passion' or 'Apolocolyto' he will have made it.

Gibson would be an even better director if he stuck to fiction, instead of fictionalising fact.
