I Am Sam!!!!! That's so sad and happy you cry nearly every 10 mins!!!!! also Dragonheart Moulon Rouge - just at the end American History X- at the end also Lion king Jack - the heartwarming speech at the end did it for me I cry at a lot of things reely so my veiw on this subject doesn't reely count i supposse. I cried at Mrs doubfire for crying out loud (get the punch?)
Not a serious entry, but for some reason William Shatner as Captain Kirk in Star Trek (I think 2), giving the eulogy at Spock's funeral, gets me every time. I'm so ashamed. Ditto Shirley MacClaine sreaming for Debra Winger's drugs in Terms of Endearment. And Dustin Hoffman insisting on being in the operating theatre while his son gets stiches in Kramer vs Kramer. Also, when Tarka the Otter gets whacked by a spade, right at the end of the movie, seemingly for no other reason than to traumatise a young child like I was when I last saw it.

i agree...channel 4 you've disappointed me...celebrity big brother, coronation street and eastenders...seriously where's moulin rouge, i am sam and jack...WHERE THE HELL IS JACK...you call this a list of tearjecker nominees...what do you take us for
Ack! Channel 4 I'm bloody disappointed!! Where the hell is Buffy killing Angel? Or even the Body, which left me an emotional wreck for weeks? Have you people no soul!?!?
Actually, way more obscure, but I have to say the Buffyverse moment that gets me most is Faith's breakdown in Five By Five. She's spent two years turning herself into this Anti-Buffy badass killer, and really she's still just a terrified little girl...
Iron Giant turns me into a sobbing mess when he does the Superman bit.
And good god, the death of Lucy in ER... I didn't even like the character an awful lot, but her death was traumatising in the extreme!
I'm quite surprised that they didn't have "I am Sam". You are dead person if you don't cry for this movie. Very disappointed channel4.

Schindler's List has to be the most emotional movie of all time.
When Schindler breaks down thinking about how many more he could have saved I was totaly destroyed - it took me 'till after the credits finished before I could pull myself together.
I'm glad at least one leonardo diCaprio movie got in though i cry at most of his movies, especially in Romeo and Juliet. But also Shakespeare in Love, it has me in deep moves between depression from Shakespeare's loss, to absolute admiration and wish for a boyfriend to cry with as he forever encaptures d'lessops in Twelfth Night! :'( (I'll be alright *sniff*)
stick wand in the air and announces "accio book"! a great rumble as though of a stampeed was approaching, bang, slap, bof, "arrrrrrrggggghhhh, that hurts" after 30 minutes of this, and coming from under a huge pile of books, "ooh, ahh, my joints hurt, note to self next time dont do that in a library"
Where on earth was Schindler's List???? It is a complete travesty that it isn't in the top 10 at the very least. How can Jamie dying in Eastenders (or any soap death for that matter) be more upsetting than Schindler's List??!!!! And the English Patient....this list is a CROCK. I am irate. And i dont normally care about these 'top 100' lists. In fact, i registered on this site simply to express my ANGER at the omission of two of the most heart-wrenching and beautiful films ever made. And Jimmy Carr??!!!! What a complete moron. I had to shout at my TV when he was speaking just so that i didnt have to listen to his voice. God help us all.
Schindler's List and the English Patient. What an injustice.
p.s the death of Dr Green on ER should have been in there somewhere also.

I cannot believe that Schindlers List was not in the top 10 never mind the Top 100. This was a tearjerker from start to finish. The fact that Titanic is in the Top 3 makes me weep!!

Where was 'Saving Private Ryan'? The first 25 minutes act as a build up but I find the last scene where the old Ryan is visiting the grave of Captain Miller and he turns to his wife and says something like 'Have I led a good life?' It's simple but quite emotional. Maybe it loses something in translation.

I actually missed the show but have seen the results on the webpage.
I agree with all that has been said, no Schindlers List is amazing but equally as amazing to me is how Muhammed Ali's lighting of the Olympic Flame in Atlanta '96 wasn't there.
Watching the greatest, most athletic, most charismatic sportmans of the 20th century reduced to the shivering shell of his former greatness as he struggled to light the flame had the tears flowing for me. Incredibly moving.
Also how the Derek Redmond 400 metre run came in a lowly 77 was also a shock, particularly with some of the entries above it.
Just my thoughts. No-one else seems to have mentioned the Ali moment so just thought i would
