quote: success at the cinema is irrelevent. Cult movies as I understand the term are films which inspire devotion and interaction from its fans, no matter how large or small. When people dress as the characters, quote the characters, and just generally behave like being a fan of a film is like being the member of a club or, well, a cult. And people seem to have forgotten that the original Star Wars was a low budget Sci-Fi that came out at a time when the Sci-Fi genre was dead and it was expected to just come and go and be forgotten.
i agree completely!!

Clockwork Orange is probably the most overrated so called cult film of all time, it is only called a cult film because it was banned it is utter crap and probably on of the worst films of all time, but people think it is cool to like it get over yourselves mindless sheep

Clockwork Orange was not banned, it was withdrawn by the director, Stanley Kubrick, after he and his family received death threats. Everone has the right to their own opinion, but calling people sheep for liking what is widely accepted to be a cinematic masterpiece is rather childish. If you don't understand it, stick to 'Legally Blonde' or something. By the way, my favourite 'cult' movie is Elektra Glide In Blue.
