Porky's Boys - God what a mad film, I laughed so hard the first time that some milk I was drinking shot through my nostrils! That scene in the gym with Kym Cattrall is so funny that you feel physical pain!
"My father had a profound influence on me. He was a lunatic" *Meet the new boss...Same as the old boss*
Duck Soup - The Marx Brothers at their most anarchic, and very dark too if you consider it was made during the 1930s when Europe was heading to war. Groucho's first wise-cracking entree into the film is still electric, even by modern stand-up standards.
Life of Brian - again a dangerous comedy, which is still banned in parts of the USA, and the BBC (I believe). This remains the heart of the joke as it really is just a silly, liberal, but warm-hearted comedy at it's core. Certain scenes, like the stoning sequence or "stwike him, centuwion, very woughly" are timeless.
The Big Lebowski - An utter red herring as a plot in reality but, as such, a subtle spoof of film noir by making the plot seem like a thickly-convoluted mystery. Probably has some of the best comedy dialogue ever too, and unforgettable characters but often overshadowed by Fargo. A pity, because it's a much funnier film - inexplicably rated as an 18!
Others I like include Dr. Strangelove, Dark Star, Animal House, Withnail and I, Annie Hall, The Graduate, Fight Club, Withnail and I, South Park, Blazing Saddles, Shaun of the Dead, Dumb and Dumber, Repo Man, Cold Dog Soup, Some Like It Hot, and the 1960s version of Batman.
Fav comedies for me are: Withnail and I Animal House Scrooged Ghostbusters Dumb and Dumber M.A.S.H. Jeffrey The Birdcage Mrs Doubtfire Priscilla Queen of the Desert
Thats easy I'm surprised that Rory Hughes is the only 1 to mention the Marx Brothers. Duck Soup is a fantastic film. Other greats include The Holy Grail, The Big Lebowski, Laurel and Hardy films, Bad Santa is prety kewl n shaun of the dead lol theres lots i cant even think of
I'm a big fan of Jim Carrey, Dumb and Dumber is my favourite of his out-and-out comedies, purley for how immature it is. Sometimes I'm in the mood for smart humour and other times dumb humour.
no mention of young frakenstein, airplane, blazing saddles, kentucky fried movie, kind hearts and coronets, school for scoundrels, blues brothers, twin town, local hero.....cor the list could be endless!

Life of Brian is one of my faves as well, along with Goldmember - although i dunno whether i think my bro's impressions are better than the actual film!
