It has to be De Niro or Pacino, they both tend to play the same sort of character a lot, but they manage to make them so diverse and they do it so well. I haven't seen a bad film with either of them in.

I have - plenty. De Niro has made his fair share of muck since his halcyon days of the 70's and 80's and Pacino has made a few dodgy decisions too. Both great actors though - no arguments there. I just think it's 'the' answer to the question when someone doesn't know any better. A bit like, who's the best band - has to be the beatles. Who's the best actor - De Niro and Pacino. People would answer the above when they know little or nothing about Music or Film. I'm not saying this about you, it just annoys me when I see it. It's kind of like stating the obvious and on a thread like this, it would be good to see something a bit more original and interesting.

I love Pacino and i think he is the greatest actor for 1 simple reason.
His transformation from Michael Corleone to Don Corleone was one of the most startling turn arounds i have seen very very intense and frightening
