S800, Thema, Fabia for a week then remapped to more than can be done on just a remap and sold, perfect numerical roundups?

This car was nothing to do with me!
It was a tuner in Peterborough's car, not mine.
I never altered the Fabia!

Yes, i didn't make clear that the 250 bhp one had had £6000 spent on it by professionals!
It ate Lancer Evo 260s and most Scoobys for breakfast!

Hahaha.... And while blowing away its petrol powered counterparts, it'd probably still get 40 odd mpg...

but what about an evo or scooby with £6k spent on it. who would be laughing last then??

.......
There's got to be a hundred reasons why i should listen to diesel owners, but right now, i can't think of any.

For those who don't like the idea of group 22 insurance and 18 mpg, it'll be easy!

It averages 30-32 mpg apparently, Si.
I think it's a great feat that it saw off over ten Lancer Evos and Scoobys at Snetterton though.

PB, it was quicker on a track than several Evos.
It had uprated suspension and brakes and ran light 14" alloy wheels.

Sorry Ian, a 250bhp FWD diesel Skoda will not be faster around a track then an Evo.

Ralliart have it all wrong. They should ditch the four wheel drive, trick chassis and super anti yaw control and stick in a 1.9 diesel engine with fwd!

This one was!
The reason is quite simple and i have seen the lap times to prove it.

Many of the said Evos had between 260 bhp and 290 bhp.
250 bhp and 1100 kgs is a much better ptw ratio than 260/290 bhp and 1400 kgs.
Also driveline losses are far less with the 2wd Skoda.
The Fabia was leaving the above Evos for dead on the straights.
(An Evo 360 might have been different, as might my Evo 340).

This was a professionally-built car, not a street Fabia with a re-map.

The Wiesel (Westfield diesel) should be quick, once finished.
210 bhp and 700 kgs.
Like a 420 bhp Evo!

Lap times were between 1 and 3 seconds quicker than several Lancer Evos and Scoobys which were there.
OK, the car makes a lot of smoke and probably wouldn't last too long, if raced constantly, but it shows the potential of diesel engines to go quickly.
I will be making a quick hatchback out of a 123d, in a couple of years time when prices have fallen a lot.

The BMW 2-litre bi-turbo engine is way more advanced than the ageing 1.9 VW unit, after all and starts out with 201 bhp/295 lbs-ft.
As opposed to 130 bhp/229 lbs-ft.
