Hi
Lookin to buy a jap hatchback ideally want under a 1.6 but need enough power to comfortably cruise at motorway speed with a full carload. Any opinions or comments (useful)ones would be great budget is £3000 to £4000

You should look at some Honda Civics. A 1.6 Vtec would give a very reasonable punch. Your budget seems to allow it.

Go for the Civic, going over 1.6 should not be a prob, as they are econimical too.

Well it depends on whether you want a bit more speed, or a few more miles to the gallon. Either would do in my case.

1.6 Civic is the best bet. The fuel economy is pretty good.
