If you think that all Protons are crap, I am more then happy to take you out for a "SPIN" in mine - may even change your mind !!!!
Hi Lancia all the way from the Proton Forum
Be a good chap and "SPIN" it into the nearest landfill would you.
....So our resident tin-can-fan has brought his mates over from the Proton forum....Spiffing.

I've thought very hard about this and have concluded that its the bit between the front and rear numberplates.

So you would know that my car is the same shell as the Mitsubishi Lancer CC and the none turbo'd 4G93 Misubishi engine ??? Of course you did !!!
So please tell me what vast experience you have and also just out of interest what do you drive ?
Questions, questions....
In order:
1. I didn't .... but you have to believe me when I tell you that it was right at the top of my to do list. Honestly. I'd bought the fascinating facts guide to the Mitsubishi non-turbo 4G93 and was just about to get stuck in with a nice cuppa when all this happened. 2 & 3. It's all somewhere in my previous posts. If you're so interested, read them.
Next up from this two pronged attack at the hands of the Korlaysian characterless garbagecan motor lobby:

Spiffing .how sad
Grammar. How useful.
I'm leaving this thread alone now as am honestly a little embarrassed at having got drawn into this half-witted nonsense in the first place. Shame on me.

Just for the people that may read this topic as Boig is no longer posting on it:
1. Thanks for the welcome; my first post and I get a rude and uninformed attack from Boig
2. I asked what car he/she drove out of interest, not to start slating it and I get "2 & 3. It's all somewhere in my previous posts. If you're so interested, read them."
3. There has never been a two pronged attack, I asked the questions as Boig seemed to have an "All Protons are crap" opinion and I wanted to know why, has he/she owned one? Did he/she work for them? Or is it just his/her opinion built up from what he/she has seen and been told? Not really an attack is it?
4. I have had over 30 cars in the past 13 years all very different, At the moment I have two Proton Coupes (One road and one track car) and a Mk1 XR2 Project, my post was trying to put across that people have a bad opinion about Protons and that they aren't all as bad as people make out, it was light hearted comment.
5. I am new on here and if anyone feels that I have been out of order in anything that I have posted please feel free to comment.
Finally the comment "I'm leaving this thread alone now as am honestly a little embarrassed at having got drawn into this half-witted nonsense in the first place. Shame on me” I am by no means a half-wit, I'm quite well educated thank you and Boig should be embarrassed about drawing himself/herself down to what can only be described as his/her natural level.

Proton Coupe looks really really dated... I don't like Asian cars of that era when it comes to looks, infact I still don't like a lot of asian cars (with exceptions for things like the wonderful Honda Civic), they're just not quite right somehow, all a bit bland, American. Yawn worthy. Even the reliability makes them feel dull, they have a Citroen Xsara quality about em.
I think that you will find Lancia that some people on here are sheep, we however have a mind of our own, so Proton aren't as well established as say... VW, Ford, Vauxhall but they are cheap and reliable and pretty good for the market that they are aimed at.
I have owned lots of different cars over the years and at this moment in time do not see why I should spend 30K of my hard earned cash on some large exec saloon in order to sit in the outside lane of the motorway waiting for the car in front to move because I feel more important, I have a 140bhp Proton that gets me about, its quick with low running costs and most of the work I can do myself.
I would hope that some of the sheep would take the time to look at the new Lotus sports car, this car is sold all around the world badged as a PROTON, its only here in the UK that it has the Lotus badge and another few grand on the price tag, just so that the sheep don’t know that they are in a high powered Proton.
Badge snobbery is all that it is, you tell someone often enough that something is rubbish and eventually they will form the same opinion as you without looking with their own eyes.
Slate them all you want but please come up with something more informative and factual than all the silly comments that have been posted before, I am by no means saying that they are better than anything else in fact some of the early ones I would not touch with a barge pole; I am just saying that they are not as bad as you think.
roll up,roll up...come and take a look at the new high performance *cough* proton savvy R3,it boasts more power than the normal model.....how much did you say?.....4BHP,absolutely amazing........
To be fair to Proton, their styling is more.. interesting than many Asian rivals. I can't stand the dull 90s Japanese styling from the likes of Toyota, Mitsubishi, etc.

notice i said that '4 more hp (i know that sounds naff)'.
