if they hold little fascination for me when they are new, age merely makes them less desireable..

Most people get a soft spot for old cars though.
Eventually.

yup..but cars that didnt light your fire when they were current are hardly gonna do it for ya when they are old an decrepit...

you aint gonna bump into a girl you were at school with and who you never fancied and suddenly lust after her cos she is 60 and shuffling about with a zimmer.....

Not so sure.
When i was young, the thought of a 2CV horrified me and everyone i knew!
But later, i loved them!
The same goes for loads of cars!

your just different to me then..the only cars iv bought that i didnt like, or dont like were cheap and purely for profit....the cars i drive i have to like, or have liked....that said, there is very little that i dont like in some way, shape or form when it comes to cars...

there are cars that i was ambivelant towards, ir even ignorant of, that when i have driven have proven to be fantastic...but i have yet to perform a full volte face on a car...i tend to enter into car buying and ownership with an open mind, so until i have personal experience of a car, i am open to persuasion...iv owned many cars that other people have sneered at or considered second best...yet i dont care...if im happy thats all that matters...yet more proof of my selfish, stubborn, eccentric tendncies..!!

OK, but never have you warmed to a car, over time?
Don't forget that WE all change over time, which is a significant point here, i feel.

i cant think of a car i disliked on first aquaintance but warmed too..nope...but then, i dont dislike many cars...even when we debated your 8.32 i said that, just cos i dont aspire to own one doesnt mean i dislike em..same with the phaeton, i cant see me ever wanting such a car....yet it is induibitably a very, very good car.....

i thing im guily more of ambivalance toward certain cars than dislike...i can see good in almost anything with wheels...only car iv owned, and this includes grey porrage escort mk5s etc..that i actively disliked was a diesel renault 11...absolutelty the worst car iv had the misfortune to drive....
