Just make sure that, as the years pass, you eat more healthily and exercise more, to help with the passing years. Oh and a positive outlook is vital! I weigh just 10 lbs more than i did when i left school at 16 and jogged 17.5 miles today in 3 hours.
iv been a big orrible bear all my life...aint changing..i think all this mid life crisis stuff is nonsense..enjoy your life to the full no matter what age you are...only reason people call it a mid life crisis is because guys who want a certain type of car or hobby dont tend to have the disposable income to fund these interests till they are relatively secure in their forties and fifties....
i, on the other hand, am permanantly skint cos i get what i want as soon as i can and have no long term plan..at all...if you dont have a plan, nothing can go wrong....
yup i work out, and run, cycle etc..but thats a lifestyle choice i made...i have many mates who do sod all..and are blisfully happy.each to their own say i...i only know whats right FOR ME...and can share this opinion/my expericences wuth others, but ultimately, they will know what makes them happy...
and the 'thousands' i make in cars are soon eaten up living life....these big assed nekid dancing girls and the other accoutrements required for a rock star lifestyle dont come cheap ya know...
oh, damn, gotta go, my dwarf has just fallen off the siberian tiger again.......
but they may have been blissfully happy up till that moment.....where do we draw the line..living a monastic lifestyle, a spartan traing regime and eating nuts n berries will probably let you live till your a hundred..but wil you have enjoyed your life....a compromise is needed when it comes to life.....i take each day as it comes, dont look any further than that and try and be as good a person as i can be for that time....sometimes, i can behave abysmally and iv done lots of things that i regret or that i just plain shouldnt have..but i reckon im up on the whole deal.....to me, if i can go out like i came in, naked and shouting at the top of my voice for all to hear, iv beat the house...
I have been to many school reunions and the majority of people i used to know are now/were then unfit and overweight. Exercise creates positive feelings. Being in shape creates positive feelings. Being in shape gives the rest of your body an easier time. The majority of the unhealthy school friends i have met were anything but blissfully happy, i noticed.
exercise creates a wonderful feeling for me too..when im finished....running in frozen forests lifting logs or deadlifting and squatting big weights is like hitting your head off a brick wall to me..its good when you stop!!!..
.but i know what you mean..i actyually get depressed if i miss a week or so of my training....

Well done mate, I'm forty next Sunday and funnily enough was just looking at a website that sells eighties retro clothing. I however will hopefully be buying a great big 4x4 soon as I hate being told what to do by 'the man'.
