Never liked the fat bum porsche look, nor the cheese wedge massive front overhang ferrari. Mas Bora was nice though. IMO Lookswise, absolutely nothing comes even close to TVRs, inside and out. Simply utterly breathtaking, especially with the individualised paint and leather to match. Ask me to pick the best looking TVR and i would struggle. maybe a tuscan s

Elise S1 is pretty, likewise jag XK and mg tf, mgb gt. IMO the E-type just looks like a todger on wheels, can't see what the fuss is about.

I look at the XKR Coupe out of the window here at Yarm, Teeside and i have to say, that the dark green Jaguar staring back at me is quite awesome to look at!

For some it is a "bar of soap", for me it is a genuine pure and clean shape without pointless crinkles, a master piece. The irony of it is/was, the rest of the jag range was so old hat.

exactly how i feel about my fiat...usually once i get over the fact that a car is fast, i get bored, very quickly....but this one just looks so elegant, so classy, even sitting outside my house....(it also helps that i spend half the week drivin the smart or cinq, so i never really 'get used' to the turbos prodigous urge!!)

im gonna split em up....pick one from each class...
supermini.....fiat 500..perfect proportions, manages to be cute AND utilitarian at the same time....honourable mention to the original panda...guigiario's favourite ever design, and rightly so...modernistic 'industrial' design, flat surfaces, chic yet cheap, less is more!!
saloon car....series 3 xj6/12..this was a restyle of the original xj6/12 by one pininfarina...and he made, for me, the most beautiful saloon car of all time...not a line out of place..these cars are elegance personified...
gt car...gotta be the citroen sm for me, for the reasons iv already listed..more a sculpture in metal than a mode of transport..so mad it could only be the result of italian and french minds....
supercar...everyone loves the muira....i love the maserati bora....its perfectly proprtioned and, that word again, elegant...hell, i use that a lot for a shaven headed thug who dressel like a reject from a balkan war!!...no fussy overstyled lines, no loud dramatic lookitme statements, just a quiet purposeful look that if you look carefully at, cannot be improved!!
...ok, so all my choices are oldies....a beautiful modern car..??...would have to be the citroen c6..or the bonkers avant garde avantime...

Always thought the Marcos Manta Ray was a nice looking car, kinda like the shape of car you would draw on your school jotter pages as a kid.
|
| |
|

|
for me, the original marcos 'adams gt' from the sixties and seventies was a show stopper..low, wide and impossibly delicate it is much more of an eye grabber, to me anyhow, than an e type or the like....these cars seem about knee height when you stand next to one...another unsung beauty from that era is the piper gt.....

My father's Vanden Plas Princess 4-litre R was a good-looking car, for it's time.

i like them..bit of a glorified cambridge look about em, but fantastic..i remember buckley tested a cracker which ran taxi wheels and tyres and had a harvey bailey handling kit....100mph cruising and surprisingly able in teh corners....well, in comparison to westminster abbey or something....
i love all those old leather and walnut 50s and 60s british cars..got my eye on a lovely old mk 10 jag needing a bit of work....but iv got four cars outside the house as it is, something has to go...

it has crossed my mind..but i genuinelly adore the coupe...and i cant think of another car with the performance..(not so important to me..)..looks..(kinda important..shallow git that i am...)..and character..(very important to me...)..that the fiat has that i could buy for similar money...
..if i decide to sell the fiat on, it will be repalced by an older classic again without doubt, but i really am torn about this car.....

i bought the fiat for pleasure and the rangie for profit.....and iv bought lots of cars over the years for profit...but nowdays, i tend only to buy the cars that press my buttons, even if its to sell em....from the zx volcane to the porsche 928, all cars i LIKE...which makes it harder to part with em when the time comes..

Agree with that (if you mean the Mark 1 version). Quite simply one of the finest looking cars ever made.
