Am I right in thinking that a 1.1 Citroen Ax shares it's chassis with the AX GT/GTi?

The Citroen AX 1.1i "Forte" shares the same chassis and also the bodykit.

Forte/GT/GTi:

Length: 3517mm
Width: 1596mm

All others:

Length: 3525mm
Width: 1555

As my 18th is coming up in March and I have a fairly healthy looking bank account, as well as parents willing to put some money towards a car of my own, I was thinking about it.

found this one, no picture though so I might take a look at it. Only just over in Nottingham (well Sandiacre to be precise).

I would happily join you on the 11th March, but for the fact that my 18th birthday is on the 10th, so I might be more than a little rough the next day! When is the next meet after that?

Queebs, it's a shame you can't make it along to the March the 11th meeting. I would show you what a 1.1 AX can do. Wink

Hi Noxide, i'm curious to know what car you own. The specs in your sig look very impressive!

quote:
(BHP Per Ton) : 216bhp | 0 - 60 5.47 secs | 0 - 100: 14.01 secs | 1.1i!

I can't think of any production car with those specs!

So what car does Noxide drive then?! Is it an Ariel Atom or something like that?

An Atom would be much faster, so no.

Citroen AX, modified.

Hi autobahn.

I am a firm believer in the power to weight ratio, so choosing a Citroen AX as the base (lightest modern day production car available, lighter than the Mini - a basic model has a 655kg kerb weight) I slotted in a Saxo VTS 1.6 16v engine, along with suspension from the same car. Engine wise the new build will have a performance manifold, straight through decat exhaust and some road/race cams giving around 160bhp - giving the figures below!

The 1.1i is a bit of a play on words, because the car is externally standard and keeps the 1.1i badges.

Indeed Alfisti. It was a pinch bolt that gave way. I had used one that was too long but was all that was available to me at the time, but due to the length of the thread, the nut still unwound and loosed up the balljoint, giving excess play in the steering and ultimately causing what it did. Lesson learned.

Sounds interesting Noxide. Where did you test your car to produce those amazing performance figures?

They are probably projected figures going by power and weight?
Nox will no doubt say when he is next on here.
