If you've got cable or satalite check out the programmes on the new station above (not sure if its on Freeview?).
They are re-running the 60s and 70s programmes such as the Saint, the Champions, Return of the Saint, etc and for fans of the 60s and 70s cars its brilliant!
Last night we had the big 60s Merc, Ford Zeyphur(sp?), Minis, BMW, XJs, etc, etc.
Off the top of my head, here are some of the cars to look out for:
The Champions: A white Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS often featured.
The Persuaders: As you probably know, Roger Moore and Tony Curtis drove an Aston DBS and Ferrari Dino respectively. The cars feature in the opening credits and extensively throughout the programmes.
Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased): Jeff Randall can often be seen in his white Vauxhall Victor, and a lovely white Lancia Fulvis also puts in the odd appearance.
The Baron: Drove a Jensen CV8, with appropriate reg no. BAR 1
Also not to be missed are Department S (Jason King + Jag E Type + Bentley + Fulvia = Essential TV) and The Protectors (featuring a young Robert Vaughan) if they're on.
This sort of thing is right up my street...Love those old ATV series, old Lew Grade had a lot to answer for in my upbringing!

Tonight its Roger Moores Volvo at 7pm!
You can get it on Freeview, channel 30 if you've re-tuned lately.
Do they have the Professionals on?
Loads of 70's tyre smokin' action, Granadas, RS escorts and the classic Bodie and Doyle roll over the Capri bonnet. Class.
..sweeney...minder(waterman)....professionals....those are my all time favourites...i think iv seen every episode of minder and the sweeney.....i love it and the street decoration is amazin.....and i aint on abaht the birds 'tel......
Originally posted by Secret Squirrel: I think you will find that The Professionals is only shown on men and motors at weekends and monday nights now. However they are onto the 1980 episodes now, which are not as good as the 70's ones.
So there!
Not so keen on The Professionals, couple of panzies if you ask me, and totally emasculated compared to The Sweeney....
..never a fan of stuff like the persuaders to be honest....its babycham and mehthol ciggies compared to the sweeney's straight scotch and senior service.......shut it you slaag.....we're the sweeney son, and we 'ave'nt 'ad any dinner....

Like both, myself - all those lovely foreign lands with their strange cars and vans! Best part was that when I did manage to get to the South of France and Italy many decades ago they were just like that! Now there's too much traffic in the big cities and all the cars look the same!

Me too..one is all froth and no substance but full of glamorous locations & daft plots and plenty for the armchair car nut to spot, especially in the city scenes with all the old Citroens, Fiats and Alfas trundling around. The other is more gritty with proper violence and old school car chases with guaranteed screeching tail-slides and a proper punch up to finish.
I'll take The Sweeney for main course and The Persuaders for dessert. Sorted.
picture the scene..granada tv hq...great idea for a cop show...coupla cops get pi**ed and smoke loadsa fags, an armed robbery happens, a bird jumps up from nowhere with 'er thrupney bits out, one of the cops sh*gs 'er, the other one takes the 'ump, they get pi**ed an everythins all right, they go and beat up an informant to find out about the robbery, then 'ave a big car chase followed by a viscous punch up in the street with brian blessed..the bad guy gets a bit o bird, the good guys go sh*g some more naked birds while pi**ed and smokin fags.....?? what do ya think.......oh, and thats the story line for EVERY episode.....things that couldnt happpen nowdays #254!!
