The first proper, comprehensive details were sent me yesterday and i must say that i like what i see. A lot.
My plan this year was to use the CSL until autumn, (it's just about depreciation proof), then cash in on the X's arival (January) by 'bidding someone in the balls' for their Evo 1X 360. The 360 retails at £36K, but are already around for £28K used, barely run-in.
Once the 'X' is on the horizon, sticking it's great new profile into the public view, the value of the '1X' is going to tumble further. I reckon i could get a 56-plate Evo 360, in late 2007 for £25K, an incredible car for the money. I have driven one and it is better than my Evo 340 in more ways than i first thought.
Problem is---i really like this new 'X'.
Mitsubishi have put right almost everything that bothered people about the old model. They should sell stacks of the things.
A new, smoother and lighter 1998cc engine, an even more modern traction, braking and handling system, a better and more aerodynamic shape, a far better interior with better crash safety, the same power levels as before (which is fine) and the car is shorter yet has a longer wheelbase for improved passenger room yet better handling.
A small weight increase to 1435 kgs is offset by all the above.
Prices will be £31K for the 300 bhp version up to £37K for the 360 bhp one.
So, 9 or 10?
