whats the point? not sure unless the rumoured toledo saloon appears - to replace the current "thingy"

SEAT seem to be overdoing the MPV thing. . Nothing in its current range would get me reaching for the cheque book. Change the record SEAT and give us the Toledo saloon!
its called niche marketing, some of you seem to act as if its only the VAG group doing it ... all the other makers are doing the same !!!!
there is demand for these cars otherwise why make em??

The signum actually has a point though, it only had four seats, which is good, becuase families these days are small. So you have a nice vectra based car, with 4 very comfortable seats and buckets of space, and a nice DVD Player/Fridge in the middle.
A golf plus has no point at all, the only reason i can think of is that people who are an inch taller might get an inch more headroom, big deal.
I was in a golf plus a few weeks ago going on a fieldtrip. It just seemed a bit more stodgy and heavier than a golf, completely and utterly pointless
In a word .... Arse.
The Golf Plus replaces what was the Golf Estate ... only it looks a lot better, has valuable extra load space over the Golf Normal (the Golf Mk V's boot is lamentably pathetic) and also manages a neat trick in these anti-SUV times. The Golf Plus has you sitting noticeably higher up than in a Golf but without the van-like Touran or an SUV's get-in-everyone's-way roofline.
The Golf Plus is a neat trick, I rather like it (esp the rear light clusters, very smart they are).
For the Dad's here, when piling baby's in and out of the car, it's also rather convenient to have the rear bench a little higher than usual as it makes it easier to get the littleun's in and out....and the weight penalty over a normal Golf is minimal since, let's face it, they're all pretty lardy anyway.
....If only there were a VR6 one and then no-one would have to stoop to the tasteless, Lutonhall Zafira VXReprobate .... ugh ....we can but dream. Although having said that, Scumsvillehall are responsible for inventing the irresponsibly-fast-Dadcar genre in the first place, something for which I shall offer some grudging respect (remain quite happy to see the Griffin dissappear though).

Have to agree MattW. Never been a fan of the Ibiza new or old, but the new leon and toledo look terrible compared to the former model (toledo particularly). I do actually quite like the Altea, but its not really the kind of car I'm after at the moment. New XL's back end is pretty ugly compared to Altea Medium.
