Bamford - you have bought a monster, sounds like a hoot and from the youtube videos of similar engined smarts they are as mad as a bag of badgers; awesome for days at the drag strip and crazy for donuts in the supermarket car parks.

For smart parts and servicing you have to go and see Sam Stewart at McSmarts just outside Glasgow, he is a smart nut who will love to help fettle it for parts and servicing.

Always wanted an 8.32! I've only ever seen 1 that I can remember for sale on a forecourt in Chichester many years ago, very nice interior and Ferrari engine. When do you get it?

I've got the car now. It'll stay up in Buxton for a while, though.
I am looking forward to Iceland, it sounds like it will be fun.

It now has a low-mileage Suzuki Hyabusa engine, where the original motor sat and, although it doesn't have forced induction, has just over 200 bhp at the output shaft.

A 6-speed sequential button-shift and power-retaining chain-drive, means serious shove from what looks from the outside like a barely-fettled Smart!

don't suppose I could borrow it so my wife could take her test in it? Maybe not.

I got to pick it up and drive it, but got my money back when it was clear that the car had not been finished by any means!
It may be up for sale again soon, i hear.
I now have a Lancia 8.32.
