The ugly duckling has indeed mutated into a swan, what a good looking car. Best looker in it's class? Not much opposition looks-wise, except maybe a 159?
I really want one of these in Jag derv guise. Will be booking a test drive shortly....

citroen are on record as saying that they want to have the best looking car in every class they compete in..they are on their way.....the c5 has styling cues from other cars, a bit of new legacy from the rear three quarters, wee bit mondeo in profile??..mini c6 from other angles..but teh effect is great..unmistakeably 'new' citroen..hope they nail the quality and have a smash hit...

It's the only way you can get a six cyl, they're not giving us the 3L petrol. An appealing irony in that the best way to get a nice, smooth engine in the C5 is to plump for an oil burner.
Big squishy seats, hydrowaft suspension, lots of lazy low down torque and an auto box......should make for a really relaxing drive. Might make booking one my Friday afternoon work-avoidance activity...Nah 'k it, I'm off to the pub.

Citroens, i mean...
They don't have an Audi, Mercedes or BMW badge on them & they're French: French & luxury = problems!!!!
The C6 should have been more like this technology wise but due to the long gestation of the model it doesnt have things like the fixed hub etc. Shame really. A facelifted C6 with all the latest tech and a decent dashboard would be great.

Dead right.
This sounds daft, but Citroen did not need to make the C5 look so good.
Nobody will buy the car anyway, as it doesn't have a BMW badge & dial in the fact that it could take any sales it does get from the equally stunning C6, it makes you wonder why they bothered!
I had a 1.8 lx C5. 2001. I never had a single repair in two years. The most relaxing car to drive. I part exchanged it for an S type Jag, and it was never out of the garage.
The C5 is an attractive proposition, but I won't consider one unless they bring out a hatchback version. i can't stand estate cars, and saloons are just too impractical for me.
