I am going only by the dealers on the internet, Noxide.

So, iyo, if i fit a full, performance exhaust system, de-cat of course, plus a K and N, there will be no increase in power?
They are only claiming 8-10 bhp with that mod, which seems about right, but i haven't tuned one before so i don't know.

Fair enough, the filter on it's own, but i am talking about a full, performance exhaust system, with de-cat.
That would surely make a difference, taking into account the larger and smoother bores of the aftermarket replacement pipework?

Not just playing devil's advocate either, i think it is ridiculously poor value at over £80,000.
My car at £20K cheaper is far better value and it doesn't do anything worse, to the best of my knowledge.

Is it a friend's M6? There are not many on the road in the UK yet.

Do you not like the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA? I would have thought it would be right down your street---250 bhp, in a lightweight hatchback, fantastic soundtrack from the screaming Italian V6 motor and good looking.
No?

Yes it is a friends, in Maroon. Styling is questionable, but for the toys and performance... even I have to admit that the performance of the M5 and M6 is quite exceptional.

I don't like the look of the Alfa, V6 does sound lovely though. I wouldn't mind driving through some tunnles in Naples in one!

Yes it would, sorry i must read posts slower lol i will slap myself for missing the detail

The K+N Typhoons are superb Boundary you should take a look. Coupled with a performance exhaust would make a great difference to engine breathing and performance

A straight through decat system, with performance manifold would see you get a 10bhp increase easy - if you go for high quality products.

A filter element would make next to no difference... you could realistically see another 10bhp from a high quality induction system, taking your total gain to around the 20-25bhp mark on breathing mods alone.

Lol I was thinking it sounded like they had liquidized you and painted the M6. What a truely horrible sort of reddish yuk colour that would have been lol

Make sure you get yourself well covered on insurance in the M6.
If you go for it, you will discover that the M5 and M6 are massively fast.
My one genuinely makes my Scooby and my mate's Evo 320 feel pedestrian.
You will love the top-end rev and power rush, but make sure you dial up the full 507 bhp via the computer.

I intend to see what is it made of, I wouldn't be Noxide if I didn't take it up to 8000rpm at least once!

Don't forget the M6 is ever quicker due to the less mass.

Boundary, a question if i may. What is the point in having a setting default of 400bhp and then a setting you can activate to get the full fat 500? is it a gimmick or is does it actually make some difference to the dynamics? Excuse me if im thick sir but im inquisitive lol

The difference is miniscule though.
0.1 second to 100 or something.

Close enough to make individual cars faster/slower than one another.

As far as i am aware, several things.

Emissions (mainly whilst testing), noise ( again whilst testing), fuel consumption, engine longevity.

Just discovered that this car is one of the first CTRs to have the lightened flywheel and various cosmetic mods.
November 2004 model.
