Theft of diesel is up 75% according to police calculations! Eek

Farmers are experiencing record levels of syphoning of the fuel & owners of diesel cars are also being targeted, due to the exorbitant price of diesel at the moment.

I think it was best if diesel drivers (& petrol too, I would imagine), were to just keep as little as possible in their tanks.

OK, it's a pain having to fill up more regularly, but it would be a lot less painful than coming to your car, finding that the fuel filler flap is busted, because although they lock, a lot of them are pretty flimsy & you have lost £70 approx worth of fuel!

a farmer near me lost about 200 litres of diesel from his tank. the police know who did it and they even traced his dna off the hose pipe he left behind. but they wont be pursuing it as it wouldnt lead to any punishment, thats right your are allowed to steal from people! a first offence is only cautionary by law apparently. i feel like going to my local shell and filling up with v-power then drive off without paying, as i pull away i will call out "its ok, its my 1st offence, its fine, deal with it!"
or course you could be taken to court privately but its not a police matter. the farmer wont be going to court as the guilty guy may not have enough money to cover the court costs in compensation, i'm not sure how it works. but he is angry and helpless. i wonder if those no win no fee solicitors can deal with these kind of things?

.......
There's got to be a hundred reasons why i should listen to diesel owners, but right now, i can't think of any.

i know you joke but you know i didnt. charging for a product is not theft, no matter how high the charge. from the laws point of view theft is allowed but only one visit per non paying customer per lifetime.

So I could go into the Aston Martin dealer near me, go and nick a DBS and drive away and get away with it?? Epic!! I'll go get it now Smile

What a load of rubbish, it isn't that it's allowed, it's the the police couldn't be bothered to follow it up.

they would pursue you to retrieve the stolen aston, you would only get a caution though. you would also need to be covered 3rd part on the car to be legal.

What?! So what if I committed murder??

Caution??

"Ok sir, we know you left that old woman in the ditch to die, but haven't we all. I'll give you a caution and you'll be on your way."

Where exactly did you hear that all first offences result in only a caution?? And why is it, then, that you get points and a fine when you get your first speeding ticket??

Total rubbish.
