I am trying to buy a Caterham R400 at the moment. The R500 is too expensive and unreliable. I want an R400 about 3 years old.

I was quite gutted to read the thread title, but now I see that you're looking at a Cat, its not so bad after all!

How much should someone expect to pay for a modified Westfield like yours, and what would you say is a reasonable price for an R400? Both highly capable cars no doubt - and both selling at a premium in the summer months too I expect.

I have sold the Westy for £19K, which is very fair on the buyer's part.
The Caterham will hopefully be a more 'together' package, as the Westy if anything had too much power, if such a thing can happen!
It was quicker than a 997 turbo to 120 mph, but was very abrasive as a whole.

I am looking at a R400 Superlight in Stourbridge.
Totally standard. Which means 210 bhp at a soaring 7600 rpm, a low 150 lbs-ft at a giddy 6300 rpm but just 525 kgs to move.
