Since the Jag sale fell through, i have both cars, for the near future and the difference in them is remarkable. Especially the engine.
The V10 us faster, for sure, but really does feel weak below 5,000 rpm, after the smaller, but supercharged V8.
I know several here enjoyed the Jag, B308 and SR71 will hopefully be sampling the screaming V10 shortly!

What's the mpg like M5 vs XKR. If you were to travel for a weekend in Southern France which would be the preferred cruiser. Personally i would take the jag.

For mpg, the M5 is better around town, but the Jaguar is better on a run. The XKR has very poor economy, off the big roads, actually.
I have only done 2 tanks of fuel in the V10, but i've averaged 22 mpg so far.
Long journey? Jag!

22mpg is pretty good for a 5.0 V10, I had the pleasure of following an E60 M5 for a short time today, when the driver opened the taps did that V10 sing.
