Seems more and more companies are trying to do these crossover things, saloons that look like coupes, SUVs that look like coupes, all that. Thing is, only one type really seems to work, and that's saloons that look like coupes - think Merc CLS and that new BMW CS - both saloons made to look like coupes, and they look pretty good, especially the CLS. But why are they making these other ones, like the X6, and that convertable SUV thing Audi threw up... why are they even bothering, they look ugly, there's no real market for them... why don't they follow the lead of the CLS more, as it's obvious that's worked well.
People don't need the crossovers, but car manufacturers have to sell ever more cars and so convince us its what we need. Or maybe it's just niche marketing.
Well I think we all need more cars like the CLS, love that machine. I just hope things like the X6 fall flat on their face as I couldn't stand seeing those on the road.
