I'm not sure if this is properly on general sale, but my choice would be the Alfa Romeo 8C Cool

2nd would be the 135i.

Couldnt agree more.

2nd would be Maserati Quattroporte GTS or the DB9 probably.

The Maser/DB9 wouldnt be my 2nd overall favourite looking car, but on sale today, for sure.

Errrr maser* looks like its a hoover attachment and the 135* is a noddy-car-shape.
TVR tuscan S (ok not on sale now), Exige, alfa GT and fiat punto for me. Razz

1 - Mercedes-Benz CLS
2 - Alfa Romeo Brera
3 - Lamborghini Gallardo
4 -
5 - Fiat Bravo

BMW 1-series coupe is not an un-attractive car, but definitely not a looker. And like all modern BMWs, it's very colour sensitive. That said, at least is a genuine coupe, ie a 2-door saloon, unlike so many cars that call themselves coupes but arent, eg. Passat CC.

There loads of good-looking cars around at the moment. Quite an achievement given the continued encroachment of safety regs on the designers. Alfa 159 & 8C, the DB9, even the 911 is the best its looked since the Californians insisted on sticking lumps of rubber on the original.....there's loads to choose from but these are three big faves of mine at the moment:

Mercedes-Benz CL
Maserati Quattroporte
Audi R8

However, the one I like the most, the one that's really grown on me and appeals more every time I see one ... and the one that will almost certainly prompt a bucket of cold scorn to be dumped over my head is:

BMW 6-series.

It looks like a shark and the five year old in me reckons a car that looks like a shark is just about as cool as it gets.

Ahh yes, they're both very nice... have you seen pictures of that new Rapide?? The prototype they were testing looks simply stunning.

Hoover attachment?? I think that car looks brilliant. And how is the 135 a noddy car?? The hatch is a complete dog, but they coupé looks great.

Very true... I think white is best, anything else looks a bit naff which is a shame.

TVRs are too crazy to be the best looking... yeah they turn heads and I like the way they look, but I wouldn't think they're the best looking car on sale. Agree on the rest though... Alfa Spider looks amazing too, especially in red.

Sure will - being based on the 8C is going to make them fly out of the showroom... I'd get one if I could.

I agree on the 6-series. When I first clapped eyes on it 5 years ago, the first words were "what the f....". Now it looks marvellous and a future classic. My only quarrel is the vicious prices BMW charge for it, when it shares so much with the 5-series.

Alfa Romeo GT for mere mortals.

Maserati Gran Turismo for 'slaves' like Ronaldo et al.

Mercedes-Benz SL

I only say that because I am totally biased. My instinct is to simply pick the Merc that I like most and ignore the rest. I saw one at Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands and both me and Mrs Mad-Git fell in love with it.

We didn't fall in love with the 70k price tag though. Frown

P.S. Some great shout by the other posters on this thread, though.
Alfa Romeo Brera - gorgeous!
Audi R8 - looks so advanced that you'd believe that NASA made it. Wonderful.

I think Mercedes have spoile the SL's looks a bit.

The last generation SL was better looking IMO.

Exige

Um... Riiiight ok then. So an Exige (a car I have a lot of respect for, but is certainly not pretty in my opinion) is more attractive than a Quattroporte??

I sense you may be in a minority on that thinking...

Thats fine by me, as long as i dont think like the majority. Crazy
yeah well i have read lots of stuff on QP saying how wow it is, but that snouty grill dominates it for me.
Exige aint 100% pretty but it is fascinating to look at and you can stare at it for minutes which is a good sign.

Fair call, Benster.

I guess on this one we'll just have to agree to disagree! Big Grin

With Si on this one.
The Maserati is superb looking.
I'd have had one by now, were it not for the price/power equation of the car.

I tell you one thing... the best looking cars are certainly not going to be found coming from France; they really are churning out some bug eyed rubbish these days.

Yeah, but at least the French cars are different.
The other makers may as well unite into one company, in many cases!

Perhaps it's because no other makes want to associate with the French! Big Grin

I wouldn't say the french were different in a good way. Although you do find them working with the likes of nissan and toyota. Has anyone else noticed how bland and boring Toyotas are these days? Back in the 90's you had the choice of MR2's, Celicas and Supras... these days they are masters of dull front drive eco-boxes. What are they playing at?
