My CR-V se sport has been off road many times in it's life - it is not a proper 4x4 i'll grant you - but it has got some poke off road and I know of quite a few other cr-v owners that have taken their cr-v's soft roading as well
To keep it short, all cars come with at least a cd player as standard. Prove to me how a CRV is a con, and prove to how the other two korean cars can go offroad!
The CRV is marketed as a SUV, a lifestyle choice and not a hardcore offroader, having said it is a terrific offroader.

The Honda CRV is the best for sure, from that choice. That's why i bought it. But i waited for the 2.2 diesel engine to be available, as it is an absolute gem. Very economical and yet revvy and powerful.

CRVs and such like are ghastly abominations with goofy looks & nasty 4 cylinder engines.
The Range Rover is a great car, except: No one buys them for off road use Horribly inefficient and very un eco friendly Mercedes Benz S Class is a better luxury car You would be better off road with a Discovery 3 Badly made compared to Porsche Cayenne and unreliable
I would have a Range Rover if the obove faults were seen to, but it's still a great car. Audi Q7, anyone?

There's an Audi Q7 outside the big Braehead Audi garage near Glasgow that I had a look at. In the metal I didn't think it was too bad. Now that I'm used to the Auto Union grille it looked quite smart. Intimdating, even. Like one of those bouncers with a tuxedo and carefully chosen shades.

no i didt!!!i agreed with the c-rv being ghastly.sportage and sorrento are great cars!
Sorry chaps. the Q7 is HORRIFFIC. I saw a whole load of them in France, Belgium & Germany a couple of months ago, a few weeks after the european launch. HORRID in the respect that it embodies Audi's recent uglification policy and takes it to new, unprecedented levels so that what we have here is a shapeless blob with that gruesome gaping grille at the front.
How they manage to sell any is beyond me. Audi may have some kind of reputation for something somewhere but they do nothing for me. Theyre even plasticky and dour inside.
There is and always will be only 2 proper SUVs
Range Rover
Chevrolet Suburban LT.
The rest are pretenders. I had a Cayenne Turbo & liked it, but the RR Vogue was a FAR better car all round & so stylish inside & out, and makes a superb, sonorous noise (BMW V8 version) cant speak for the new 4.2 supercharged Ford version because ive never driven one. Ruddy fast i expect but i would stick to the 4.4 Vogue because that BMW V8 is a masterpiece.
So as far as this thread is concerned.
Forget those nasty little 4 cylinder boxes, theyre all ungainly & un necessary.
And over priced. You can get a used RR Vogue for same price as a new CRV. And it will cost you less in depreciation.. OK the gas mileage is around 15mpg but i would wager the CRV is only mid 20s. You cant get great MPG out of any of these kind of vehicles, so you might as well forget all that stuff & go for the real thing.

err no, you agreed that three of the cars were ghastly along with the others.
you agreed that "CRVs and such like" " are "ghastly", i qoute you saying "i agree", please do not deny the obvious!

Comparing a RR with a CRV is like comparing an F430 with a Fiat coupe, they are completely different, and the CRV manages over 31MPG.
