brother in law owned two astra gte, one mk1, the best of em in my opinion, lovely recaro seats, cracking engine and handling in a different league to the quick, but wooden mk2...both were very reliable, very econmical for what they were, and easily maintained!!....a good un at a grand or less is, in my opinion, a good buy..they are getting rare now and a well maintained, well cared for example should provide reliable, different, economical depreciation free motoring for many years...

I used to have a 1990 GTE 16V & it got nicked! I replaced with a Peugeot 306 XS as I was too scared to buy another full fat hot hatch at that time.
