Good move on their part.

They are now free to rip off the UK buyers.

I suppose it's only right, as everybody else is ripping us off, so why not Nissan!!! Shake Head

Personal imports often carry risks though.
The car is still way better value than any other supercar.

And way, way cooler. The R8's honeymoon period is over already. Who'd have thunk it!

Me. The excellent R8 has always had a weak engine for £80K.

In this months Car and Driver the GT-R spanks the 911 Turbo and Corvette Z06. I have not read the whole article yet, but it looked about 4 seconds a lap faster around a track.

I can't find the article online, but only had a brief look on the website.

Different appeal entirely. Never the twain shall meet.

The new Nissan is nevertheless looking to steal sales from buyers of several vehicles.

...and it could do; but not in any great numbers I'd suspect .... guess we'll have to wait and see.

In the magazine one of the reporters writes that if it were not his money he would take the 997TT and something about the Porsche heritage, brand etc but if he were writing the check out of his money it would go to the Nissan.

You know someone is really beaten when they have nothing else to say but "it has no soul, no heritage"

Right on!
The 'heritage' and 'character' thing was always brought out by Palmy, to claim that the Jaguar XJS was a better car than current sports cars.

Not only was it much more expensive, in real terms, but i've driven them and they are way down on the current equivalents.
