I have been searching for weeks for a Rover 75 CDTI connoiseur (?). I am looking for a 2003 or later, with less than 50,000 on the clock. I have a budget of around £5500-£6000. Am I being optimistic. Decent 75's are like hens teeth in my neck of the woods. (Northeast Scotland.)
I've been having a look around at some of them but no luck as yet. I missed a beauty at Arnold Clark, Aberdeen. £5998 for a 2.0 CDTI Conn. SE.49000 Mls on the clock, Fully loaded. I was a day late and she was gone.
The nearest one is 89 miles from me and I don't have the time right now to get there and have a look. Thing is, I want to trade in a Laguna, and it would mean making at least two round trips of 178 miles, with no gaurantees that I could do a deal.
And having had another look, there are plenty of classics or clubs, but very few connoisuers. Being a tight fisted Jock, I don't want to spend more than £6000 in total(inc. the trade-in, of around £2200)
It might Bamford. I don't have a particular timescale, and I,ve put the word out to a few local and regional garages, so I'll stick to my guidelines until I get desperate.
Bought a Rover 75 Connoiseur SE TDCI.White Gold. 35,000 mls. manual, with all the toys. A/C, Climate (zoned), Full electric pack, mirrors, sun roof, windows,Cruise, auto lights and mirror,CD Full leather,17" Alloys, ETC , 1 year MOT, 2 year warranty, £7300. One minor niggle which will be fixed when the part arrives , a warning light on the computer saying there is a faulty bulb (which there isn't)
The turbo with the intercooler makes it quite rapid. Not the fastest off the mark, but acceleration from 30 - 90 MPH is startling for such a big saloon.
