i may change my car in the medium future. i would want a small lightweight rwd car. budget £6k max.
top of my list are either mx-5 or mr2
then possibly elise/vx220.
interested in other suggestions, aslong as its under 1100kgs and can be made quite nippy and not too old.
was toying with the idea of a copen turbo and upgrading it to 120bhp. would make it very fun. and different.

.......
There's got to be a hundred reasons why i should listen to diesel owners, but right now, i can't think of any.

the main prob with these cars is insurance.
so u could go "classic" but then they can be a pain. The Smart suggested should have sensible insurance.
beat / cap are FWD, or?

beat is an import only car, not really keen on that idea when it comes to spare parts/servicing.
was looking at the reviews of a capachino and it seems a bit flimsy.
brabus roadster would be worth looking at, i wonder if it would be powerful enough though. i suppose could tune it a bit more to 120bhp and more torque. should be enough for an 830kg car.

Porsche 968 at a push for the money, but certainly a top condition 944 or very good condition 928. 944 is cheaper on parts/servicing than the other two but all three will see reasonable insurance premiums if you shop around specialist/classic places.

Go cheaper and look at a 924S or 924 Turbo, lovely cars. The original 924 2.0litre is getting harder to find in really good condition but is extremely cheap on parts and simple to work on.

We have lost our way, but we're way ahead of schedule.

Highly recommend a smart roadster - I have many fun drives in my one and you can tune them to wild levels if you want. But try to find a roadster light, has a targa roof not the electric soft one that can leak, also has no Air Con, saves weight to keep handling tight.

Try an MR2 or MR-S, BMW Z3, 1st Gen SLK, Honda s2000, but if you want something really special - Caterham 7 or other such kit car would be great.

yeah was thinking of a seven too, z3, slk and s2000 are too heavy. it would be my only and daily car, so i would need a little practicality, i think the seven maybe a bit too small.
mr2 is my favourite but have read on the owners club about the precats breaking and causing the engines to get damaged. anyone esle heard of that?
i didnt know you can get a roadster without aircon and a lighter roof, what model is that? is it a uk sold model? so would be lighter than 830kgs then? sounds interesting. what do you think of the auto box though? can you do fast changes?

As an only and daily car, don't go for too much lightness!
After the thrill wears off, a stripped-out car makes for a rubbish everyday drive.
S2000 would be ideal.

mx-5 and mr2 would be suitable for only cars. and lighter than s2000. s2000 is 1240kgs or something. quite lardy. the other 2 are about 1030kgs.
