The new Atom looks rather good.

505 bhp.
495 kgs.

From a supercharged, 2.4 V8 with 20 valves.

Atom or Caterham??

I see the Caterham has been given that engine, but dont think it made that much power! Still hot though...

Of the two, I'd personally have the Cat, slower or not, its the more attractive of the two, IMO.

I wouldn't have an Atom or a Caterham for road use anymore.
I would have a track-only car and something more useable on the street.

Track car would have no lights, number plates, little silencing, no cats!, or any other street-legality things!

I'd like 250 bhp, probably the S2000 engine, in something weighing about 400 kgs.

sounds similar to the radical v8. small bike sized light v8. makes similar power turbocharged aswell. maybe it is the same.

.......
There's got to be a hundred reasons why i should listen to diesel owners, but right now, i can't think of any.

Shouldn't that be 40 valves? 5 valves per cylinder x 8 cylinders = 40

otherwise you've got 2.5 valves per cylinder and that ain't right

40 valves is right.
It's like 2 Yamaha R1 engines, which had 20 valves for most of the model's life, but has now gone to a more conventional 16 valve layout.

Sorry mate. It's the best looking pile of scaffolding poles I've ever seen, and undoubtedly the fastest. Thumbs Up

Positive enough?
